It’s a new Best Reads blog tradition! Celebrating the month’s new releases the first week of each month.
Because I recently discovered that a book’s success or failure is often determined by first month sales! (Though I bet preorders play into that as well.) Publishing houses look at those stats to determine whether they’ll add on to a series or accept the author’s next manuscript! All that literary goodness hanging in the balance but for a month’s worth of sales! (This was a cozy mystery author, but I imagine all traditional publishers use the same ‘system’.) So, I thought I should do my wee little bit to promote Christian Fiction.
By hosting a special “Hello — insert month” giveaway. It’s easy to play along. You just have to choose one of the May 2023 new releases on your TBR wishlist (must be Christian Fiction) and mention the title in a comment below (or email me at kavluvstoread AT yahoo DOT ca.) If your name is drawn, that May release is the book you will win and we’re one book count closer to keeping our fave authors in business.
GIVEAWAY OPPORTUNITY AVAILABLE TO:
ebook for anyone anywhere who has an Amazon.com kindle account
US – paperback or ebook copy — winner’s choice
Canada -paperback or ebook (in form of an Amazon gift card) or audible.ca audio book (if available) – winner’s choice
Draw will be held and winner announced on Saturday May 6, 2023.
I’m going with an old favorite author (two actually)!
The Heart’s Choice by Tracie Peterson and Kimberley Woodhouse (May 16th)

Okay, not a giveaway entry because you can only get it as the whole set, but I am super excited for Ted Dekker’s latest kid’s series, Journey to Impossible Places!

I had no idea Ted Dekker wrote for children! You can still enter another May release for the giveaway if you want to, Stephanie.

Thanks, Kav 🙂 yeah, he actually has several children’s series at this point. (Some of these are written with his daughters!) From what I can tell, they’re self-published, so they are mostly promoted through his website/social media

It’s a good book to be twinning over! We had warmed up but we’ve cooled back down again. Sigh. May 1 and my heat just kicked on and I have it way down low. It’s super rainy too so a good day to stay inside and read! Good luck, Diane!

We had rain over the weekend & it cooled things off quite a bit. I also turned the heat on this morning. We just planted flowers over the weekend, which we usually do on Good Friday. This spring the weather’s so crazy! Hope you’ll be out there gardening sooner than later!!
