Conversations With Kav – Happy Canadian Thanksgiving + Giveaway

And we’re going to celebrate with all things books and reading since they are high up on my thankfulness list! I came across this book tag on booktube courtesy of Paperbacks and Ponytails channel and I thought it would be fun to share here. A great way to discover new books and get to know each other a little better. I imagine this is the kind of conversation that would be going around the table if we all gathered for Thanksgiving dinner.

What book reminds you of Autumn?

This year it’s the ‘Falling for Autumn’ multi-authored series. I hope to get to all the books by the end of November. I’ve read four out of eight so I’m halfway there! Lots of fun autumn activities, community events etc and the romances have all been toe-curling and swoonalicious!

What is your favourite autumnal book cover?

Hmmm….it’s always changing. This year, Autumn at the Cat Cafe by Kathleen Fuller embodies my idea of autumnal splendour on a book cover. And it’s sooooo cozy!

Do you prefer to read late at night or early in the morning?

I’m an equal opportunity reader! Morning, noon and night will find me with a book (or audio book) in hand. But I’m more of an early bird. You know, that annoyingly ‘bright eyed and bushy tailed’ person that bounces out of bed eager to embrace the day (or the current story!) so I’ll say I have a morning preference.

Favourite autumnal drink to while you cozy up with a good book?

Hot chocolate with marshmallows! I wait all summer for the weather to get chilly enough to bring out the cocoa! But I’ve also become exceedingly fond of a turmeric ginger tea blend that I picked up at a quaint little shop in my new neighbourhood.

What is your favourite spooky read?

Since I’m a big ol’ scaredy cat, I don’t really do spooky but I recently read The Memory House by Mary Alford and that was quite eerie. Psychological thrillerish which was quite eerie. And look at that atmospheric cover! Shivery delight!

What is your ultimate fall comfort read?

Gotta go full out cozy mystery for this one. A toss up between Lord of the Wings from the Meg Langslow series (it takes place on Halloween and the entire Family Skeleton Mystery series – an actually skeleton is one of the characters. So fun and quirky. And the Halloween one is excellent. Must give it a re-listen this month.

What is your favourite autumnal snack?

Anything pumpkin for sure! Bread, pie, muffins, loaf. Ohhh, Tim Horton’s has the yummiest pumpkin donuts that are only offered in October. Must get some.

When you are not reading, what is your favourite autumnal activity?

Wait…there are other things to do in the fall besides read? Well…I never! πŸ™‚ Okay, I do like to walk a lot. Love rustling up the leaves and watching the squirrels scurrying around preparing for winter and the crisp fall air, light frost in the morning. Happy sigh. But, I’m usually listening to an audio book while I walk so, ha, still reading!

What is on your autumn reading list?

Ohhhh, so many books!!!! Not all autumn themed though. Heavily suspense/mystery because ’tis the season for murder and mayhem – for me anyway. I’ve been bingeing indie author Melanie D. Snitker romantic suspense books the last few weeks and I found This Rough Magic by Mary Stewart (what a thrilling find!) in a little free library that I’ve been saving for October. Oh and Axe Me No Questions by Paula Charles – a cozy mystery with a beautiful autumnal cover – so yay, a setting that will work for the Autumn Bingo Challenge!

Speaking of which, JUST A REMINDER THAT THERE ARE THREE WEEKS LEFT IN THE AUTUMN BINGO CHALLENGE. I’m having so much fun tallying bingo cards and seeing what everyone is reading. Plumping up my TBR as well, and distracting me from my planned reading goals for this month. You guys are such a band influence. Bwahahahaha!

  1. You have found a quaint little shop?!! How exciting. I love to hear about your walks and exploring! My favorite outdoorsy thing is to walk in dry autumn leaves and hear them crinkle under my feet. I have been found to purposely seek said leaves out. Love, love, love the sound. 1. There are tons of quaint little shops. Plus I’ve just discovered there are TWO more indie bookstores I didn’t know about, both walkable, though about an hour’s walk away which would be too much round trip but short bus rides away. I’ll have to do a bookshop crawl blog! πŸ™‚ I love crunchy leaves! The sound and the smell is divine! Good luck, Kathleen!

  2. It’s fall well someone didn’t remind Nebraska that, mornings were i don’t need a hoodie when I walk and 90’s late afternoon. They say it’s suppose to cool off next week we will see. I read at night but not too late since I’m an early bird.

  3. Happy Thanksgiving Kav! I’m a bit jealous of your walkable city and finding cute shops. If I ever leave my home in the suburbs, I’d like to live 30 minutes from here in my favorite little walkable town that I visit every few months. There’s at least a dozen restaurants, bakeries and coffee shops in a short stretch on main street, not to mention dozens of small gift shops. There’s even a Celtic shop called Maggie Casey’s Celtic Treasures selling various things from Ireland, Scotland and Wales, beautiful plaids and jewelry too. Oh boy, did I ever go off on a dreaming rabbit trail…

I start reading in early afternoon for a few hours before I have to get supper together, and then I’m right back to it afterwards until bedtime. My favorite fall drink is hot ginger peach tea by Republic of Tea Co. which I was surely drinking last week to get through my cold. My favorite fall activity is enjoying fall decor inside and out in shops, homes, and even pinterest. I put my fall wreath on my front door and a small garden flag. I also put out a few fallish things in my kitchen, change my dining room centerpiece and change my family room mantle every season. I don’t know that I have one snack for fall, but I do like pumpkin baked goods along with my hot tea.

My bingo board has 9 fall books on it, my 2 favorite covers are The Story of Us by SM Warren and The Sweetest Thing About You by Alyssa Schwarz, both from the Falling for Flannel in Maple Lake series. I’m doing my part in the bingo bad influence category, haha.

I promise you I always “try” to use an economy of words on Sundays, but book talk is my thing, and I tend to get long winded, sorry about that.

I hope you have a wonderful day tomorrow celebrating Thanksgiving! I know you’re a vegetarian, but I’d like to know what special foods you make for the occasion.

Thanks for the book talk and giveaway Kav πŸ™‚ tracey14567 atgmail.com

    1. Ohhhh, that town sounds like the perfect fictional setting ripe for a few cozy murders. Bwahahaha! There are tons of coffee shops around me too…I’m surprised that they don’t compete with each other but they are all super busy! I’d like a Celtic shop though. We do have one in the city, but, ironically it’s way out in the suburbs so not super accessible for me.

Ginger peach sounds like an amazing flavour combination. I haven’t seen anything like that in my travels. Love plain old peach too though. I love getting fancy herbal teas for the winter months. Hope you are over your cold now. Hot tea is such a comfort remedy – especially ginger. Now you have me craving a cup of tea.

I suppose you are industrious in the mornings since you don’t start reading until the afternoon? If only I was that disciplined! I’ve started to pace myself though — read a chapter…or two…okay, no more than three, and then get up and do something physical, so I get my chores down in short sprints.

I don’t do a lot of seasonal decorating in these later years, other than Christmas. Not sure why, when I was living in a house but now that I have a much smaller living space I could get a few decor items and it would make an impact, I think. And the shops are just a walk away! I’ve seen wreaths and pumpkins cropping up on my walks but it’s traditional to put your Halloween decorations up this long weekend. I’ve seen some really imaginative displays.

Ohhh, yes, the Falling for Flannel series covers are wonderful! Some of the books are available up here and some aren’t, which is weird. Maybe there’s just a delay of some sort. Yes, you are being a very bad influence, Tracey. Shame on you (but please don’t stop!)

I have all the regular sides for my Thanksgiving dinner — even have a yummy stuffing recipe, but I’m not going to make it this time I’ll save that for Christmas. This year I’m having chickpea falafels for my ‘meat’ portion. I get them from a bakery/cozy diner close by. They have lots of vegetarian and vegan offerings. So, dinner will start with ginger carrot soup courtesy of the bakery/deli as well and then the falafels with roasted root veggies and sourdough whole wheat bread. Dessert this year is apple crumble (my pumpkin pie option was vetoed in favour of the apple crumble. Sigh.) Most years I’d do both but there isn’t going to be a big enough crowd to warrant that kind of two dessert decadence. πŸ™‚ Nice chatting with you, Tracey. Good luck!

  6. Happy Thanksgiving! Thank you for sharing the pretty seasonal book covers and the talk of cooler weather goodies. I don’t have a favorite cover since more of my books now are on my print size adjustable Kindle. I do miss seeing the artistry in color. Most of my reading is in the evening, with mornings for chores. It’s still quite warm here now, but hot chocolate is my favorite cold weather treat. I just finished Sarah Sundin’s latest book and about to start an Amazon Prime sale find, an older and very long Pulitzer winner, Lonesome Dove. Not Christian but I believe is supposed to be inspiring in its own fashion.

    1. That’s one of the drawbacks of my audible library collection too — though I do get to see the covers in colour and think some kindles are just black and white? I love a pretty physical book in hand though so I like to balance the two. My mornings are chores too…accompanied by audiobooks so I can still sneak in some ‘reading’. Yay a fellow hot chocolate lover. I have heard of Lonesome Dove, didn’t they make a movie or a series about it too? Classic Western, right? I had no idea it was also a Pulitzer prize winner as well! Happy Reading, CC, and good luck!

  7. Happy Thanksgiving, Kav! Favorite fall treat or snack? I don’t get them often but love Trader Joe’s Apple Cider donuts. Soooo good! I also like candy corn (I know, some people hate it! lol), but I don’t keep it in the house or I’d be grabbing a piece or two constantly πŸ™‚ I’m also a hot chocolate lover, but believe it or not, I drink it year round. 8. Happy Thanksgiving! I’ve read all of the β€œFalling for Autumn” series and really enjoyed them. I’ll admit to having to get a Maple Bar after reading this series, which I enjoyed with a coffee. I love all of the pumpkin and caramel drinks this time of year.

I mostly read in the afternoons and after an hour or so of TV with my DH, I retire to the bedroom to read until bedtime.

I’m reading and loving the Falling for Flannel series and just finished Educating an Earl, which begins in the Fall.

    1. Oh, wow! You’ve read them all?! I’ve never had a maple bar – or even heard of them before these books – which is strange when you think about it. Maple flavoured anything sounds like it should be a Canadian treat, doesn’t it? I’ll have to search for a recipe and see what they are like. And now you are onto the Falling for Flannel series! I am officially experiencing bibliophile envy. Bwahahaha! Good luck, Sandy!

My favorite autumn cover that I can remember bc I just read it (LOL) is Find Me in the Harvest by SM Warren

I begin reading after housework is done, then read after supper till bedtime.

My favorite snack is Yoplait pumpkin pie spice Greek yogurt with a dab of whipped topping & anything pumpkin!

My favorite drinks are hot chocolate with whipped topping or marshmallows and apple cinnamon hot tea

Spookiest book I’ve read is The Garden Girls: Serial Killer Thriller by Jessica Patch

Favorite activity besides reading would be going for walks and looking at everyone else’s fall decor

My TBR for fall isn’t necessarily fall books. Falling Into Us by Denise Hunter, Pride and Practicality by Pepper Basham, A Marriage by the Sea by Jody Hedlund, & just started reading The Sisterhood of Unlikely Friends by Sara Brunsvold!

  10. I usually don’t participate in your Sunday conversations but I do love to read through them. Today’s conversation has me wanting to chime in. I love fall … with the leaves falling, the flowerbed kind of cleaned out but for those strong fall colored ones ones that keep on giving us pleasure till it’s cold. I love the cooler temperatures overnight especially and warming up enough to be outside with a light coat or sweater. What’s not to love about fall after a long hot and humid summer like we had here.

As for books with fall colors, I’m into a series now by Luana Ehrlich that I am thoroughly enjoying. It’s her Mylas Grey Mystery series that has me captivated and all her covers have a fall like set up. The one I’m reading now is called Six Days Spent and the cover shows the front door of a house that’s red with fall decor and flowers around it. She is quite the writer and does have a different style of writing the mystery story’s. I am really enjoying her books.

Keep up your conversations ladies. I love what you’re doing Kav. Maybe I’ll take the time and join in again sometime in the future. Happy Thanksgiving from another Canadian.

    1. Hot chocolate on a rain fall night sounds divine! Still can’t do it in the middle of the summer though and yours has got to be way hotter than mine. Your body must have adapted to the humidity or something. lol Ohhhh long drives for leaf peeping! I don’t have a car so I haven’t done that in ages. Some of my earliest childhood memories are loading into our little Volkswagen bug and heading out of the city (Toronto) to catch the fall colours in the country. Anywho, I’ll add to today’s conversation. I’ve read a few of the Sugarcreek Amish mystery series Guidepost puts out & some of the covers definitely have a fall vibe to them. Puts one in a cozy mood πŸ™‚ Talking about fall….one thing I miss is all the fall colors of the leaves on the trees. We don’t get so much of that here on the Oregon coast, but growing up in Illinois sure was a treat when the maple trees displayed all their fall splendor!! Too many pine trees here, LOL!

Since I work during the day, most 0f my reading is in the evenings and just before I go to bed. Most nights I can’t stay up past 10pm because I am seriously exhausted.

Favorite autumn drink….most times it’s hot chocolate or a good cup of herbal tea with honey (most often chamomile). My favorite flavor of hot chocolate is peppermint and I also enjoy a good hot vanilla or pumpkin chai as well.

Spooky read….hmmm, I don’t do much “spooky” but I do enjoy anything by Jaime Jo Wright. I know I can trust her writing no matter how shivery her books make me…lol!!

Autumn snack….I don’t snack often, but I do love pumpkin anything! I love making my pies for Thanksgiving & Christmas and also the occasional bread, cake or bars depending on my mood.

I don’t have other hobbies other than reading, but a nice walk does sound good! I hate going by myself so trying to convince my husband is a chore. Or maybe having a small firepit outside my house with a cup of something warm in my hands and chatting with loved ones.

Autumn reading list…..whatever I choose, lol! Seriously, I’m a mood reader so whatever book catches my fancy will go on there. I don’t often plan my books so it’s hard to say what will be next πŸ™‚

What a fun discussion! Thanks for letting me monopolize it HAHA!! Happy Thanksgiving Kav and all our Canadian friends!!

    1. I think Guidepost books have lovely covers that embrace everything cozy. I need to go to that big used bookstore nearby and hunt around and see if I can find any of them. I didn’t realize you don’t get the same kind of fall colours in Oregon. Ours are way late because of the unseasonable warmth and the colours don’t seem to be as vibrant as usual – at least not yet. I think the weather needs to get frosty at night and not too hot in the day for optimum colour plus the extreme heat this summer has really stressed the trees.

Evening reading is one of the joys of bookish life. Such a lovely way to wind down after a frantic day.

Yay for another hot chocolate kindred spirit! Like your other choices too. Pumpkin anything is so popular in the fall as far as beverages go but since I don’t drink coffee or regular tea, I’ve never experienced the taste. Pumpkin hot chocolate or pumpkin tea just sounds yucky. lol

Ohhh….pumpkin bars (with cream cheese icing!) I should have made those for dinner tomorrow. I’m a pie lover too but I’ve never successfully made a pumpkin pie. Always comes out really runny and unappetizing.

I’m usually listening to a book when I go on a walk so I never feel alone. I’m careful at night about where I walk though. Especially now — it feels so much darker and way earlier. November is the worst and then, once we get snow it’s brighter again.

Mood reading has been messing with my reading plans for this month. I’m so impressionable. I see a title on somebody’s bingo list that intrigues me and I can’t resist. And then, this afternoon I watched a video of 8 recommended fall books and I’ve tracked down 6 of them (read the other two.) through hoopla and my public library and one was even radically on sale on Audible. Sigh. I’m hopeless. πŸ™‚ Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Trixi. Good luck!

      1. I’m sure there are many places in Oregon that get those fall colors on the trees, just not here on the coast where we have LOTS of pine trees…lol! And a hot pumpkin chai is so delicious!! It’s spicy, creamy and SO cozy on a cold fall or winter night. Not sure I’d like that flavor in coffee, tea or hot chocolate though either. I sentiment your “yucky”, lol!

I’m rather envious of your daily walks, especially with all the book places. Sounds so nice πŸ™‚

Well, I will read any time of day, but nighttime is the best. I’m definitely a night owl, so I get most of my uninterrupted reading done before bed. When I’m not reading in the fall, I’m baking! Breads, pies, cookies, cakes! Fall is the best for baking! As for favorite fall beverage while reading, probably a hot cup of tea, especially chai. I drink hot beverages all year long, mainly coffee, but when fall hits, I definitely bring in more hot tea, as well as hot chocolate!

A Taste of Home, I think it’s called. Anyway, all there recipes look amazing and doable. Not hoity-toity fancy. I feel compelled to bake my way through the entire book! I’ve never tried chai tea…can’t imagine what the flavour would be like. I’m a committed hot chocolate drinker! lol Good luck, Kimmy!

  20. Autumn at the Cat Cafe sounds so fun! And the cover embraces all the goodness of the season. And yes, Amy Clipston has started writing non-Amish contemporary romance too. Not sure if she’s given up writing Amish books or doing both now. Candy Apple Kisses is such a cute title

I can’t imagine going through a whole day without reading! I think you are more of a night owl then I am. I start drifting off while I read at night so if I want to get a physical book read I need to read throughout the day as well.

I had to google your beverage choice because I haven’t heard of either Constant Comment Tea or True Orange Packet. Now that I know, it does sound tasty.

I’m excited for Jaime Jo WRight’s release later this month. She is definitely an iconic spooky read author. I loved the Carolina Coast series — probably my favourite by T.I. Lowe. Funny though, I wouldn’t choose her for a comfort read because of the angst, but you’re right, at least we know going into the read that there will be a HEA by the end.

I like your healthy snack choices. I’d never paired apples and cheese together until recently and, wow, I am a fan. Perfect autumnal snack…healthy too.

At least the weather is cooler for your quilting in the fall…well, maybe not where you are. Scrap that. πŸ™‚

Bwahahaha — I had to ask what your reading plans were, didn’t I? That’s an ambitious list with lots of great books. You won’t be bored this month! Thanks for contributing to the fun discussion, Perrianne. Good luck!

  21. Happy Thanksgiving blessings to you. Come over and I’ll make you pumpkin scones and hot tea with the neighbors honey while we take cozy throws and sit on my deck and watch the squirrels & deer. We can take a walk in the falling leaves and then I will give you a rake to help winterize my berries with them. Blessings my dear. leliamae54(at)aol(dot)com

    1. Ohh, pumpkin scones sound delish. I’ve seen them at the bakery. Also pumpkin cinnamon buns, which kind of feels like cheating on regular cinnamon buns so I’m not sure about that. πŸ™‚ I love that you can watch deer from your post! The perfect autumn activity…maybe we could hold story time for the dear. Bambi? Only we’d have to skip over the forest fire scenes out of deference to gentle doe ears. And I’m happy to help winterize your garden. Sounds like the best fall afternoon ever! Good luck, Lucy!

What book reminds you of Autumn? Falling on Main Street by Tara Grace Ericson

What is your favourite autumnal book cover? Candy Apple Kisses by Amy Clipston

Do you prefer to read late at night or early in the morning? I read while I am nursing my baby, so anytime of the day, although I usually prefer late at night. In the morning, I have everything on my mind that I have to do for the day, so I don’t usually spend a lot of time reading.

Favourite autumnal drink to while you cozy up with a good book? Definitely hot cocoa. But I love hot cocoa, so that’s not just an autumn drink for me. I do have a special mug for fall though. Lately, I’ve been putting coffee creamer in my hot cocoa. It’s so good.

What is your favourite spooky read? For my bingo, I tried to find a spooky read but just couldn’t find anything that caught my attention. I put Bitter Autumn by Lyn Cote. That one did feel a little spooky, but didn’t keep me up overnight haha! Although a few years ago, I really enjoyed Dragonfly Ashes by C.C. Warrens. So even though that wasn’t a 2026 read, I’ll include that one.

What is your ultimate fall comfort read? Autumn by the Sea by Melissa Tagg

What is your favourite autumnal snack? My husband has been making Trader Joe’s Pumpkin bread for us on a regular basis. It’s been yummy. Last year, we ate quite a few pumpkin rolls from Sam’s Club as well.

When you are not reading, what is your favourite autumnal activity? We’ve been watching Murder, She Wrote in the evenings after dinner. It’s been fun this autumn when we don’t have a car and can’t leave the house. But in a normal fall, definitely driving up to the mountains and taking a walk! Today my son and I are going to watercolor a cactus wren we saw in our backyard yesterday.

What is on your autumn reading list? I am finishing up Christy Barritt’s Refuge Cove Series. The first two, set in Autumn, were on my bingo card. The other five are not set in fall though. Anyway, I am on number 5. Also looking forward to Ghosts We Unmask by Chelsea Michelle, Feels Like Home by Courtney Walsh (I’ve never read one of her books yet!), Lucid Nightmare by Skylar J. Kent, False Security by Tara Grace Ericson, and the Falling for Flannel Series by Susan and Sarah Warren.

    1. I’m not sure I’ve read anything by Tara Grace Ericson, though I’ve heard of her, of course. Who knew there were so many autumn romances out there?!

I can just imagine you have too much going and and running through your mind to read much in the daytime. Love that you read while you are nursing. The perfect way to introduce your baby to a love of reading by example!

Ohhh, jazzing up your cocoa with coffee creamer, that’s a mix I never thought of trying! Good point about CC Warrens’s books fitting into the spooky category. I’ve stalled mid series because the next book I have to read is Injustice for All and I am dreading it!

I so loved revisiting Autumn by the Sea this year. I’m in the middle of the second book now and then I’ll finally get to the third one that has been lingering on my TBR for much too long! Autumn is the perfect season for simple, stay-at-home activities. I’ve started watching some British cozy mystery series again recently.

Christy Barritt is the perfect autumn read! So many series to choose from, it’s impossible to keep up. Whoa — you haven’t read a Courtney Walsh book before? Eeeepp, I’m so excited for you to ‘meet’ her in the pages of a book . You have some great fall reading ahead! Enjoy! And good luck, Rebecca!

    1. Ooohhh, Krista Lynne Jensen! I loved her Miracle Springs Christmas. I’ve read it a few times now. Must check into her other books. The Falling for Autumn series books have great seasonal covers. I’m half way through the series, haven’t reached Martha Keyes’ yet.

There’s something so cozy and comforting about relaxing with a good book before bed, isn’t there? Reading is supposed to be so much better for your brain before sleep than watching a screen too. I love a good apple cider but I’ve had some yucky ones too so I’m a cautious fan until I find a brand I like and then…yum. In fact, now that you’ve mentioned apple cider, I have a craving. I might have to go to the store later and see if I can find any.

Condemn Me Not has a great atmospheric cover too. And Heather B. Moore is also your comfort read author? Talk about versatility! I’m with you on cinnamon and pumpkin combo treats. Might be time I made a batch of pumpkin bars now that you mention it! πŸ™‚ ‘Jane Austen meets Pirates of the Caribbean’? Your next read sounds exciting — I’ve added A Lady’s Guide to Love and Pirates to my audible wishlist. Thanks for sharing, Heidi. Good luck!

  24. I’ve had a busy week, and haven’t been keeping up with your posts! I am now sitting at the automotive repair shop waiting on my car to get an oil change and tire rotation in preparation for an upcoming trip!

One book that is on my fall reading list and I am definitely taking with me to read is A Scattering of Light by Lori Benton. I purchased it not long after it came out but haven’t read it yet. My Mom had a chance to read it and really enjoyed it!

  25. I hope you had a very happy Thanksgiving!

What book reminds you of Autumn? I can’t think of a specific book, to many options, but I love how there seems to be quite a few that have come out this year with very festive fall covers.

What is your favourite autumnal book cover? I agree with you on the Autumn at the Cat Cafe book. It just screams fall! πŸ™‚

Do you prefer to read late at night or early in the morning? Probably in the morning.

Favourite autumnal drink to while you cozy up with a good book? I love a good pumpkin pie chai! πŸ™‚

What is your favourite spooky read? About the spookiest books I can read are mystery/suspense books. One series I’ve been enjoying are the True Colors books based on real crimes.

What is your ultimate fall comfort read? I tend to want to read Christmas books this time of year! πŸ™‚

What is your favourite autumnal snack? Anything with apples! We always go to the apple orchards this time of year to stock up!

When you are not reading, what is your favourite autumnal activity? Going to the apple orchard! πŸ™‚

What is on your autumn reading list? I’m trying to finish the Bingo right now, just a few more prompts left! πŸ™‚

    1. Thanks, Bridget, it was a wonderful Thanksgiving and the weather behaved besides. πŸ™‚ I’ve noticed all the fall covers this year as well – and also the number of fall themed multi-authored series too.

I think you are our first morning reader, Bridget! I’m an audio book listener in the morning while I do chores and walk and then switch to print reading in the afternoon and/or evening. Have to admit, I’ve never had chai anything but I like saying ‘pumpkin pie chai’ lol

Can totally see how the True Color series could be spooky — there’s something so chilling about knowing the mystery/suspense parts are fact, not fiction! Whhaaaatttt — Christmas books are your fall comfort read?! I kinda like that! And you really do have to start reading them early if you want to keep up with all the great new Christmas releases that come out each year.

The farmer’s market by me was a smorgasbord of apple options this weekend. I didn’t realize we grew so many types in the area. And I love that the growers indicate what each type of apple is best for, and their characteristics. I think I spent a half hour trying to decide and came away with some new recipes too! Going to an actual apple orchard would be amazing though. I know they have some pick your own places outside of the city but I don’t have a car so the market is the next best thing! Happy Bingo-ing and good luck, Bridget!

Do you prefer to read late at night or early in the morning? Anytime I have the time.😊

What is your favourite spooky read? I don’t read a lot of spooky books, but I’ll say Lost In Darkness by Michelle Griep. Even though it was maybe more intense than spooky.

What is your ultimate fall comfort read? Familiar authors, I already know I’ll enjoy their book(s)!

What is your favourite autumnal snack? Something with apples or pumpkin, this year I really like pumpkin logs.

    1. It was a great weekend! And now we are paying for it with rain. lol Yes, I’m with you, anytime is a good time to read! Bwahahaha! I actually didn’t read Lost in Darkness because I thought it would be too…spooky/heavy/atmospheric? One of the few books by Michelle Griep that I haven’t read. I have a so many comfort authors too! I wonder if they realize how much of an impact their books have on our lives? I had to google pumpkin logs. Never heard of them before and see that seem to be the same as pumpkin rolls, which someone else mentioned. I have never seen anything like them up here but I’d certainly be willing to give them a try. Pumpkin is the perfect flavour for fall. Good luck, Sabrina!
