Hello October + Giveaway

It’s a Best Reads blog tradition! Celebrating the month’s new releases the first week of each month.

Because I recently discovered that a book’s success or failure is often determined by first month sales! (Though I bet preorders play into that as well.) Publishing houses look at those stats to determine whether they’ll add on to a series or accept the author’s next manuscript! All that literary goodness hanging in the balance but for a month’s worth of sales! (This was a cozy mystery author, but I imagine all traditional publishers use the same ‘system’.) So I thought I should do my wee little bit to promote Christian Fiction.

By hosting a special ‘Hello – insert month’ giveaway. It’s easy to play along. You just have to choose ONE of the October 2026 new releases on your TBR wishlist (must be Christian Fiction / Closed Door) and mention the title in a comment below (or email me at kavluvstoreadATyahooDOTca) If your name is drawn, that October release is the book you will win and we’re one book closer to keeping our fave authors in business.

  1. If I were the very fortunate one selected, I would love the opportunity to read and review LOST GIRLS by Susan Sleeman.

Fooled you didn’t I! I figure you were sure I’d pick the Wanda E Brunstetter book. 🤣 Nothing like shaking it up a bit. 😊

  3. Hello October! I just won a fantastic book during RCW so not entering this one, but there are some great Oct releases! Just a FYI for ebook readers:

FYI – Instead of earning 2x Kindle reward points on every ebook you purchase, you can earn 3x Kindle reward pts on Oct 6 – 7!! (gasp!) I have about 900 pts on my KRP balance, just waiting for books that are a bit more pricey so I can save some $$! 🙂 *If you haven’t signed up for Kindle rewards points it’s free!! Just click on a couple buttons & you’re in. EASY PEASY!*

      1. I’m so sorry, ParklandMom. 😦 I wonder why? I saved $6 on 2 books today! Every litttle bit helps as the price of books have gone sky high . . . especially the ones by major publishing companies.

    1. There are so many great books releasing in October. More than in November or December. Must be some marketing strategy there. And I’m so glad you are enjoying Sian Anne Bessey’s books. I need to catch up o a few myself. Good luck, Trixi!

    1. Yay for fall weather! I took a loooonnnngggg hike this morning and it was quite nippy. Could have worn gloves. Lots of interesting Halloween decorations going up and plenty of pumpkins on front steps, waiting to be transformed into jack o’lanterns. I love the fall! Good luck, Tracey!

  10. Hello October!
So many good new releases that it’s hard to choose. I am going to go with Deadly Charade (FBI New Recruits Book #1) by Lynette Eason and Kelly Underwood. (10/27/26) This new suspense series looks like it’s going to be a good one!
