My Review:

A heartwarming Christmas romance with such a sweet ‘Parent Trap’ spin. The girls are so dedicated to their plotting with some funny and amazing results! Never underestimate a determined ten-year-old, especially when there are two of them!

Loved the Second Chance trope and all the emotion that brings to the story. Theo and Regina have been artfully avoiding each other since she moved back to town until their daughters meet at school and become best friends and that’s when everything gets complicated!

Shiloh is an expert at pacing out a romance and I really enjoyed the way their relationship developed.It never felt rushed even though this is a novella. And kudos to the wonderful way the author wove meaningful faith elements throughout the story. So impactful!

An emotional love story enhanced by a festive backdrop and two charming young girls who believe in the magic of Christmas!

I listened to the audible edition and was really impressed by the performances of all four narrators! Their combined talent made for a highly entertaining listening experience.

    1. I often dream of living in the country but then I walk to the grocery store or the library or any number of places I need to go and I realize I’m better off in an area where I can get around independently since I don’t drive. Good luck, Kay!

  2. Good morning, Kav! Please don’t enter me as I already raced to Amazon to check this one out & gulped. That price for a novella ebook! ACK!! I’ll order this one closer to Christmas & keep my fingers crossed the price will be much lower. It’s not that I can’t afford it, it’s the principle of the thing. Bethany House has gotten ridiculous on their prices. So far Thomas Nelson is the only major CF publisher that’s been around for years that’s still pretty reasonable. I do love Toni Shiloh, however, and appreciate your wonderful review of her book! This looks & sounds like a great Christmas read.

    1. And it’s so strange that the audio book is cheaper than the kindle price. I mean, it has four narrators which has to up the production price! It seems such an odd marketing strategy. Maybe they are trying of offshoot the 40% discounts they offer for preorders on the Baker Book House website? Or they actually want more physical copies sold than ebook copies? In Canada, the preorder paperback price for A Matchmaking Christmas was $32! For a novella! Now it’s down to $25…still pricey for a short novel. I got my audible copy for $14. Even stranger — the Canadian Kindle price is $9.99!!!! How can it possibly be cheaper than the US edition? It makes no sense at all. Gah! Happy Reading, Diane!

      1. Not sure what their strategy is, but the paperback format is priced the same as the ebook on Amazon. That is strange that the Canada Kindle price is cheaper than ours! Perhaps they are trying to compensate for the 40% discounts, but I think they are simply discouraging potential buyers. I don’t know too many of my friends who are willing to pay those high prices for a novella ebook they can read in a day. Happin Reading back to ya, Kav!
