It’s a Best Reads blog tradition! Celebrating the month’s new releases the first week of each month.
Because I recently discovered that a book’s success or failure is often determined by first month sales! (Though I bet preorders play into that as well.) Publishing houses look at those stats to determine whether they’ll add on to a series or accept the author’s next manuscript! All that literary goodness hanging in the balance but for a month’s worth of sales! (This was a cozy mystery author, but I imagine all traditional publishers use the same ‘system’.) So I thought I should do my wee little bit to promote Christian Fiction.
By hosting a special ‘Hello – insert month’ giveaway. It’s easy to play along. You just have to choose ONE of the September 2026 new releases on your TBR wishlist (must be Christian Fiction / Closed Door) and mention the title in a comment below (or email me at kavluvstoreadATyahooDOTca) If your name is drawn, that September release is the book you will win and we’re one book closer to keeping our fave authors in business.
GIVEAWAY OPPORTUNITY:
US – paperback or ebook copy — winner’s choice
Canada -paperback or ebook (in form of an Amazon gift card) or audible.ca audio book (if available) – winner’s choice
International – ebook if you have a US Kindle account
Draw will be held and winner announced on Saturday September 5 2026
It’s hard to believe that another month has flown by! Here’s hoping for more Fall-like cooler weather (or at least not baking hot). I’m choosing Twelve Days and Twelfth Night by Sarah Sundin.

Hello September. Hurry up Fall! This beautiful cover caught my eye & I haven’t even read the blurb. SMW’s books are always good!

There are so many Susan May Warren books releasing I don’t know how anyone can keep up never mind how she can possibly write them so fast! I need to dive back in at some point but it’s daunting. Good luck, Diane!

I certainly agree with you on that, Kav! I don’t even try to keep up with SMW’s series anymore, just the standalones that draw my attention like this one. Someone else who writes them fast is Christy Barritt! AND she still has a social life bc she’s my FB friend & I see the photos. She has to write in her sleep, that’s the only thing I can think of! lol

Hello September! I can’t believe I’m saying that especially with a high of 95 and heat index expected to be 109 today! We are notorious for hot weather in Sept/Oct here in Virginia. I may need to get in the car and drive west towards the mountains, it’s always cooler at those higher elevations, sigh…
Back to book talk-I have Three Steps Behind by Dani Pettrey on my Sept reading list, so I’d love to win that. I think it’s as hot in the book setting of New Mexico as it is in Virginia but it’s a chance I’m willing to take 😉
Thanks for the giveaway, Kav! tracey14567 atgmail.com

Thanks for the reminder, I dashed over to audible and preordered Three Steps Behind. 🙂 Ugh to your temps. I had a nice misty walk in the fog this morning, it was almost chilly. Supposed to get hotter this afternoon but I can handle that now since our evening temps get low enough to cool everything down again. I’m sure I’ll be craving your warmer temperatures in the middle of winter, but right now I’m enjoy my northern fall weather! Good luck, Tracey!

Ohhh, I haven’t heard of this one before and a new-to-me author as well. Plus, marriage of convenience with a bit of a suspense angle it seems. Sounds like a must read. Good luck, Lori!

I am loving all the fall themed books coming out this month, but it also makes it hard to choose, LOL! I am going to go with Indie author Cassandra Joelle’s newest release (9/8/26)- Falling for the Hotshot. Thanks for the opportunity!
