It’s a Best Reads blog tradition! Celebrating the month’s new releases the first week of each month.
Because I recently discovered that a book’s success or failure is often determined by first month sales! (Though I bet preorders play into that as well.) Publishing houses look at those stats to determine whether they’ll add on to a series or accept the author’s next manuscript! All that literary goodness hanging in the balance but for a month’s worth of sales! (This was a cozy mystery author, but I imagine all traditional publishers use the same ‘system’.) So I thought I should do my wee little bit to promote Christian Fiction.
By hosting a special ‘Hello – insert month’ giveaway. It’s easy to play along. You just have to choose ONE of the June 2026 new releases on your TBR wishlist (must be Christian Fiction) and mention the title in a comment below (or email me at kavluvstoreadATyahooDOTca) If your name is drawn, that June release is the book you will win and we’re one book closer to keeping our fave authors in business.
GIVEAWAY OPPORTUNITY:
US – paperback or ebook copy — winner’s choice
Canada -paperback or ebook (in form of an Amazon gift card) or audible.ca audio book (if available) – winner’s choice
International – ebook if you have a US Kindle account
Draw will be held and winner announced on Saturday June 6 2026

Hello June and here we are looking towards summer! I was thinking about your new apartment Kav and wondering if it would have air conditioning?
I’ve been waiting for the last installment of the Freddie and Grace Mystery series by Pepper Basham. The Bachelor Spy is releasing in paperback July 1st, but the ebook format that I would choose comes out June 15th! It’s usually the other way around and ebook readers have to wait longer. I’ll be happy to get it 2 weeks early for a change.
Thanks for the giveaway 🙂 tracey14567 atgmail.com

Alas, no air conditioning (again!) but it’s North facing and quite sheltered. The current tenant says there’s always a breeze coming in (which likely means it’s cold in the winter!) and she didn’t miss having an air conditioner so we’ll see. Plus is has the screened balcony door so that’s a plus.
Eeeeppp — Freddie and Grace! So strange about the two different release dates. Totally makes no sense to me, but yay for you! The audio book isn’t even up yet for preorder and I have the rest of the series in audio so I’ll just have to wait and see when it becomes available. Good luck, Tracey.

Good morning, Kav, and hello June! I can’t even fathom that we’re already in June. Perfect weather here in SC, but the heat & humidity are on the way! 😩 I’ve enjoyed this series:

We were 7-8 degrees below reg temps most of May but now it’s flipped and we’re 7-8 degrees above reg temps in June…accompanied by humidity. Ugh. Still fresh mornings though so I’m about to step out for a walk. Good luck, Diane!

Well, so much for perfect weather here. Could get up to 90° today. Ugh! We never really do have much of a spring, but my spring was spent mostly in the house so… Glad you were able to go for a nice walk! 🏃😃

I’ve been seeing this book titled Don’t Upstage the Body by Naomi Stephens around the web. It sounds intriguing, and it’s by an author I haven’t heard of before. It looks like a wild ride in historical fiction. It’s on my TBR list for sure.
Thanks again for all you do

This one has me excited too. The whole concept of a family of professional mourners who have perfected the art of grief is too intriguing to pass up. I’ve read one of Naomi’s other both — The Burning of Rosemont Abbey and it was fantastic — a mystery with a Gothic flare. She’s also done a biblical fiction novel as well, I think. Good luck, Nora!

Hello June, and the (almost) end of school! Where I live on the Oregon coast, our seniors graduate June 8th and all other students get out on the 11th. I can’t wait for summer and a more relaxing schedule….and hopefully more reading time 😁
My pick for today….please let me know if it doesn’t count…is part of the Proper Romance (contemporary) line of books. It sounds really good!!
Every Beat After by Sara B. Larson

Wow, that’s early dismal to me. You must go back in August? Our schools go through to the last week in June! Hight schoolers get out a bit earlier especially if their grades are high enough that they don’t have to write final exams. We don’t go back until after Labour Day though. Every Beat After does sound good — contemporary too. I thought all the Proper Romance books were historical. Live and learn. Good luck, Trixi!

No, our schools normally start the day after Labor Day. Although, this year it was voted to start August 31st because Labor Day is later this year on the 8th and we wouldn’t have gotten out until June 17th/18th I believe? It’s so crazy, I think. Anyway, hopefully this is the only year we’re starting early like that because it’s going to throw me off!! 😂
I too, thought Proper Romance was strictly Historical…. but I found this on Netgalley under Shadow Mountain publishing. It’s also listed on Amazon in the series….some books are historical and few are contemporary. Kind of interesting, isn’t it?
