Finding Margo + Giveaway

Off the charts and on the run.

International pop star Margo Hartman could use a night off. A grueling tour and overbearing entourage have sent her over the edge. It’s time for this diva to disappear. And who would think to look for the superstar in a small Dutch town in Ohio?

Sheriff’s deputy Brock Moore is undercover as well. He knows Margo isn’t who she appears to be, but her uncanny resemblance to a local Amish woman is raising all sorts of questions…the kind that make her a target for a killer.

Both are determined to find answers, but their mutual attraction stands in the way of either of them doing it alone. Is finding Margo the solution to Brock’s problems or just the beginning…?

My Review:

published in 2016

Love Jen Turano’s historical books? Well….suspend any preconceived notions you might have of her writing style and story telling technique and prepare to be entertained in an entirely new way! Still good…but different! So don’t let that discombobulate your book karma, okay?

Campy and quirky with the occasional over-the-top slapstick, this book is comedy at its finest. Love the ridiculous in some scenes, the pithy dialogue and tongue-in-cheek humour. And the Amish angle? Sublime! Not quite suspense, not quite mystery — somewhere in the middle maybe? With a generous side of laughter. And a duck. Gotta love a strong duck character in the middle of all that romance and mystery, right?

  1. Good morning, Kav. Perfect weather in SC! Hubby bought me some hanging flower baskets for our patio & front porch & painted porch as well. Still fighting nasty shingles, but there’s just something about Spring, flowers, & green grass that makes me look forward to new beginnings & gives me a feeling of well being . . . even if it hasn’t happened yet! Sorry I’m waxing poetic this morning. lol I so hope your weather is improving?!

I was starting to think I just imagined reading this book bc I couldn’t remember the title. I enjoyed your fun review! Not typically a Jen Turano reading fan, but I sure enjoyed this one! Don’t enter me — just stopping by to say hello at 5:15 AM bc of demonic shingles keeping me awake. Ugh!

    1. We’re slowly climbing out of our latest wintery mix. Crossing fingers that it warms up for good soon. Only not sweltering warm. Not your South Carolina I’m picky! 🙂 Sorry that your recover is taking so long, I hear that’s the nature of the beast. Hopefully great reading options can soothe the discomfort for a time.

      1. You’d love it here right now. Feels like a balmy island. Perfect. Now June? That’s quite a different story & sweltering is an apt description. 😅 Hoping your weather will be perfect for gardening soon!

Some folks just get a light sunburn type rash, but others go all out. I never can do things halfway. I read peak nerve pain is from 2-6 weeks depending on severity of symptoms & age. I’m on week 3 today & old as dirt so…

I have some yummy books to read, but I fall asleep reading bc I’m not sleeping well at night. So I read a few chapters, sleep, repeat. Makes for a choppy story in a sense, but still very comforting! What do people do who have shingles & don’t like to read? TV watching is boring to me most of the time!

      2. I do not have the physical fortitude to be a Southern Belle. 🙂 Sorry your bout with shingles is more severe. I know it’s just plain rotten and with all our advanced science you’d think they’d have found something to ease patient’s suffering! So glad that you can distract yourself with stories at least some of the time. That’s what gets me through my pain jags. Like you, I wonder what non-readers do to help get them though the tough things in life!

      3. Kav, if you have the physical fortitude to walk & shop in the snow I’m convinced you can endure any weather! lol Can’t do cold unless I’m in the house under my blankie with a good book! So many medical advances, but so little cures for anything. I mean I’m using what my mom used on my chicken pox & that was eons ago. Calamine lotion. smh Thank God for CF!!

  2. Love Jen Turano books! How has FINDING MARGO been off my radar before now?? Sounds like the perfect combination of just about everything I love in a book rolled into one. Can’t wait to dive into Margo and Brock’s story. Plus I get to see how the duck plays into it. 🙂

Thank you so much for the amazing chance to win a copy!

  3. I adore Jen Turano’s historical novels. They have been a hit at book club. I am fascinated by her new genre. I always wondered if she would break out and write something else. I would love to read this new novel by Jen Turano. Thanks for the opportunity!

  4. I have to go with Diane here and say I don’t typically like Turano’s books so maybe this one might be more my style? I’d be willing to try it anyway 😊

  5. Well, you already know my opinion on this one. 😀 I loved it! I’m thinking maybe the contract was dropped or she never got the publishing rights back from the publisher to be able to finish the series. Such a disappointment, because I want to know how the other children are found!

    1. So grateful to you for mentioning it, Elizabeth. That was a light bulb moment for sure! 🙂 If I’m remembering correctly it was published by Gilead which didn’t last long. I would have thought the rights would go back to the author in that case. Like you, I really want to know the sibling’s stories and if they get reunited. Happy Reading, Elizabeth!
