Reader’s Choice Giveaway – Spring 2026 Edition – Historical Fiction

Publication date must be April, May or June 2026

Each day is genre specific, so only submit titles from that genre

Christian Fiction books only please!

You can offer up to three suggestions per genre day BUT they need to be made in 3 separate comments (easier for me to keep track of.)

No email entries this time round since WP comments are working

OF SPECIAL NOTE: IF YOU HAVEN’T COMMENTED ON THIS BLOG BEFORE, YOUR FIRST COMMENT WON’T APPEAR UNTIL I APPROVE IT. AFTER THAT YOUR COMMENTS WILL POST AUTOMATICALLY.

Entrants must submit their own selections (no piggybacking on someone else’s log in.)

It’s helpful to include your email (using AT and DOT instead of @ and . to protect yourself from spammers) but you only need to add it to one of your comments per day. If you choose not to include your email then it’s up to you to contact me if you are a winner.

    1. Ohhhh — A Chance for Kallie Mae does sound really good. Ann Gabhart writes this kind of story with such heart and depth. And that cover is deceptively serene, I think, but breathtaking beautiful. Good luck, Stephanie!

  1. Good morning, Kav! Will this dual-timeline work?

    1. Ohhh, love that cover on The Lumber Baron’s Wife and I love the way Melanie Dobson writes a dual timeline! All three of your choices are dual timeline — so interesting how popular that genre has become. Good luck, Diane!

    1. Happy Monday, Tracey. It’s sunny, and most importantly, not snowing! 🙂 You find two new ones and I’m interest in both but particularly intrigued by Miss Beth Bettencourt after reading that snyopis. What???? Good luck, Tracey!

  2. #3. The Manhattan Confessions by Jocelyn Green, 4/7

PS, I picked up The Lumber Baron’s Wife at BBS last week ahead of Lynn Austin’s book event coming up next month. So EXCITED for this one!

    1. I haven’t read the second Manhattan book yet — yikes! And I love the cover on The Lumber Baron’s Wife. How exciting that you got to attend a Lynn Austin book event! Triple eeping up here! 🙂 Good luck, Sandy!

  3. My oh my! I think my head is some place other than on my shoulders these days. ☹ Sorry about that! I’ll blame it on spring arriving and I’m trying to move faster than my “normal” trying to get it all done. I best pace myself or I’ll be running out of gas before I even start. :😉

Have a glorious Monday! I’m sending you warm thoughts and hopes for you to get some sunshine this week.

More suggestions for other people: In Pursuit of Civility by Jen Turano, The Fearless Cowboy by Jody Hedlund.

Does the Bethany House imprint, Haven, count? It’s considered clean, but not overtly Christian. A book in that line that fits this category is A Deal With a Debutante by Chelsea Bobulski.

    1. Oohhhh, thanks for the extra suggestions, Sylvia. And yes, Haven counts. A Deal with a Debutante looks good. And I’m thrilled to see another Jen Turnano comedic masterpiece in our reading future! Good luck, Sylvia!

  5. Well, I was obviously scrolling around publisher websites and now I see Jen’s book had been just mentioned. The Lumber Baron’s Wife by Lynn Austin. Thanks!

    1. Bwahaha, our book searching skills are a force to be reckoned with during Reader’s Choice Week. You and Sylvia call it a tie over in Pursuit of Civility. 🙂 And you found a new Sarah Loudin Thomas book coming out in May! Lovely cover! Quite serene but my guess is the story won’t be! Good luck, CC!

    1. Oh wow, two of your choices have grabbed my attention: Never Upstage the Body (wwwhhhatttt? and a vintage cozy mystery to boot) and The Brunswick – a totally different approach to a WWII novel! Sold!!!! Good luck, Paula!
