What a thrilling month full of Olympic excellence both on the track/rink/slopes and in the pages of all the books we read. And, as I mentioned before, I got a real kick out of seeing what all of you were reading. Even discovered some new-to-me authors to check out so thank you all for participating and sharing the book love.
And fun fact: a lot of us were reading the same books or authors! Jody Hedlund, Pepper Basham and Laura Frantz were quite popular. It looks like Historical is the favourite genre, no surprise there. 🙂 I’ve made an attempt at tracking all the books but I may have missed a few, so my apologies if I missed one of your Olympic Reads.
The Nerdy Stats

I know, I know, this is all really fascinating but what you really want to know is who the winners are, right? Well, here they are:
Olympian Readathon Champions!

Congratulations, ladies and thank you to everyone who participated in the Readathon! May all our futures be full of Best Reads!
Thank you so much, Kav! That made for a reading-intensive month that was totally enjoyable. I was able to get more books read from my TBR shelf! Win, win!!

Yay for depleting your TBR shelf….as long as you can fill it up with more books! 🙂

Wow, I am not very athletic and I can now claim Gold Medal status!!! lol!!!!!

Bwahahaha! Too bad I don’t have shiny medals to give out too. I found a hockey novella by a new to me author for that hockey challenge. I quite enjoyed the book and decided to carry on with the series only to discover that the first book had language issues and I Dnfed it early on. So disappointing. Happy Reading (and book buying) Tammy!

Hello March!!! I’m so ready for the warmer temps!
Wow Kav, that was a lot of books for you to pull covers for! I think I counted 98 books and I bet some were entered by more than one reader. A great bingo month here at Best Reads.
Congrats to Tammy, Slyvia and Karen on their Olympic medals!

Oh nooooooooo!!!!! I forgot about Hello March! I’m gonna have to reschedule this weeks line up to fit it in. Yikes! How could I forget about the beginning of a new month?! Gah. Lucky I have you to keep me on my toes, Tracey, even if you didn’t realize your were doing so. 🙂 And I realized after I made my pretty lists that I’d left out the last minute entries so…yeah, not a complete list. And we could have had a few book clubs going on during February.

I was welcoming the month at first but then thought about our Hello March category as I typed. I just figured you had so much going on you’d do it next week, always a fun category and I likes seeing if there’s anything new I need to investigate 🙂

Congratulations to the very fortunate winners!
It was so cool to see all the books listed in categories. I’m such a visual person at times. 🙂 Thank you for giving me so many more books for my TBR list.
Happy 1st day of March! May it be a great month for us all with may book adventures.

I love looking at pretty book covers — so much better than a list of titles. Happy Reading, Kay!

🎖Congrats on your Olympic medals, ladies! 🎖I can finally uncross my fingers! My mom used to tell us when we were little not to cross our eyes or they would get stuck that way. Good to know that was just a myth!! LOL!
Loved seeing what everyone else was reading & many of those books fill more than 1 prompt. Thanks for sharing the stats & covers, Kav! And for the fun Bingo giveaway! You actually helped me clear off some books that were languishing on my Kindle. And they were good, too! I also learned something. I dont, nor ever will I, love hockey. 🏑
Have a happy week ahead, Kav. It’s going to be in the 70s here. WOOHOO!

🙂 Yes, some clever strategic readers managed to fill all the prompts with just two or three books. I was impressed. Always fun to have an incentive to reach for those languishing titles on our TBR. I think you just haven’t found the right hockey book yet. It’s quite palatable in the hands of a talented author. Happy Reading, Diane!

I’ll take your word for it about the hockey novel. 😉 Although that’s a very cute cover on SMW’s new hockey book, The Not So Neutral Zone! It’s interesting when you read a book to fill a certain prompt & realize it fills 3 or 4 (I did strategize some if it told certain info in the blurb.) Otherwise I happily found out along the way.

Congratulations to the winners! Thanks for taking the time to create the picture list of books that were read! I’m enjoying getting to look through them 🙂 I find it fun seeing books I’ve read in the past, or others I didn’t know existed that are now on my ever growing TBR list 😉

That is impressive! Looks like fun but didn’t attempt since I have been binge reading a very prolific clean (but not specifically Christian) author.

Binge reading an author or series sounds very productive. I tend to jump all over the place except when I’m rereading a favourite series. Happy Reading, CC!

Oh, Kav, I’m so glad that you put these charts together! I love seeing what people are reading. Moving books off of your TBR pile or e-reader is a very satisfying feeling.

Congrats to all the winners! And what fun to see three Laura Frantz titles represented in the pre-1800s historical category! Just glancing quickly through, I don’t think I spotted another author with that many titles represented in one category. I could have missed someone though. Did you notice any others, Kav?

There are a bunch of two book authors but there actually is one more three book author — Jody Hedlund, except I forgot to add the third book to my lists. Oops. Happy Reading, Cheryl!
