January Giveaway – Week Five

Alas, I fell victim to a noxious virus and have been languishing all week. Seriously, 8 days and nary a step out of my house and I don’t even miss the walks or the fresh air (helps that it’s been super cold and snowy all week.) Anyway, I’m afraid because of that, I let most of the wins from last week slide and I haven’t made it to the post office either and I’m not sure if I’ll get there this week. All I’ve been good for is listening to audio books and bingewatching Midsummer Murder episode. 🙂 By my calculations, I still owe:

Paula – your copy of The Golden Braid, the week I got your address it was bitterly cold and then I got sick so no trekking to the post office for me.

Angie, Rebecca and Caryl – you won the gently read books , A Beautiful Love (Angie) Snow on the Tulips (Rebecca) and One Nine (Caryl) – I never sent notifications. Would you mind emailing me your mailing addresses and I’ll get the books packaged up to mail once I’m feeling up to the walk to the post office?

And Marian Baay, you won Love in the Castle Library – your choice of paperback (if in US) or ebook — could you send me your contact info as well? This one I can at least order right away.

My contact info is: kavluvstoread AT yahoo DOT ca

Thanks so much!!!!

If you are looking for book with an Italian setting for the Bingo Olympics Readathon, Diane Flowers discovered a nifty one: Runaway Tide by Julie Carobini – a contemporary romance. And I thought of the Waterfall series by Lisa Bergen – a time travel series set in Italy.

And now, back to our regularly scheduled Winner Annoucements!

Winners will be contacted if they left their email address, otherwise it’s up to the winner to contact me at kavluvstoread AT yahoo DOT ca (please note it’s ca as in Canada, not com.) From time to time a winner and I do not connect so I have a one month time frame on giveaway wins. If I haven’t been able to reach you within 30 days of your win, it will be forfeited. This has happened a few times now, so please, DON’T BE SHY — CONTACT ME IF YOU DIDN’T LEAVE AN EMAIL OR IF I HAVEN’T BEEN SUCCESSFUL IN REACHING YOU!

LOOKING AHEAD TO THE REST OF THE YEAR:

Conversations with Kav – a place for us to chat about bookish topics if anyone is so inclined. Sometimes there will be giveaways, sometimes there won’t. It will just depend on the topic of the day. Hope to see you there! Otherwise my inner book nerd and I will carry on by ourselves. Bwahaha!

Hello February! Time to take a look at the Christian Fiction releasing in February 2026!

  1. Totally understandable Kav. I only trekked out to the mailbox three times in the last week. Haven’t even made it to church. Too cold again tomorrow too.
Hope you are feeling better, don’t push it… we understand. Blessings and thanks for all you do!

  2. Congrats winners! Runaway Tide fills more prompts as well!

I’m so sorry you’re sick, Kav. (sad face) Rest, read, extra Vit C & Zinc. Praying for you! 🙏

We finally got snow in SC!! 😃 I wouldn’t want it every day but since we never get any, a couple of days will work. It’s so beautiful!! ❄⛄❄

      1. I guess they just watch tv. How boring. 😜 I’ve enjoyed looking at the snow but since the gkids aren’t here to help me build a snowman, I think just hot chocolate & a good book will suffice. I’m such a wimp when it comes to going out in the cold. But I love snow. How does that make any sense at all? 🤔 Get better!!

  3. Aw, sorry you’re sick Kav, praying you feel better soon!

Somethings are more important than trudging to the post office, and that’s you! Stay in and take care of yourself!

    1. Happy reading to the book winners!

I’ve read a few Julie Carobini books, I need to go look this one up. I also have that Waterfall series on my kindle, decisions, decisions

      1. I really like the contemporary romances I’ve read by Julie Carobini, but I missed this one. It’s been ages since I read the Waterfall series and now I think there are two spin-off series with the same time travelling theme. The books are longer reads though.

  4. First and foremost – praying you get to feeling better real soon. Please take care of yourself first because we want to get back to 100% and not going backwards towards a relapse. ❤ Thank goodness for books (print or audio) during this artic blast, but more so when you don’t have the energy or desire to do anything else.

Congratulations to the very fortunate winners!

    1. Ugh to Covid! I’ve been able to avoid that so far. I have a respiratory infection which is taking its sweet time going away and wiping my energy levels. I can’t believe what a couch potato I’ve been this past week! Praying you don’t end up getting COVID too, Cindy!

      1. Thanks, I tested negative again today, so hopefully we dodged that bullet. Praying you are better soon! Sometimes we have to be a couch potato in order to heal.

  6. There’s a lot of icky stuff going around here, too. So far I’ve managed to evade it (knock on wood!). Praying for your recovery, Kav!
