Hello December + Giveaway

It’s a Best Reads blog tradition! Celebrating the month’s new releases the first week of each month.

Because I recently discovered that a book’s success or failure is often determined by first month sales! (Though I bet preorders play into that as well.) Publishing houses look at those stats to determine whether they’ll add on to a series or accept the author’s next manuscript! All that literary goodness hanging in the balance but for a month’s worth of sales! (This was a cozy mystery author, but I imagine all traditional publishers use the same ‘system’.) So I thought I should do my wee little bit to promote Christian Fiction.

By hosting a special ‘Hello – insert month’ giveaway. It’s easy to play along. You just have to choose ONE of the December 2025 new releases on your TBR wishlist (must be Christian Fiction) and mention the title in a comment below (or email me at kavluvstoreadATyahooDOTca) If your name is drawn, that December release is the book you will win and we’re one book closer to keeping our fave authors in business.

  1. Hello December, my b’day month. And my son’s! 🎂 I brought him home from the hospital on my b’day as a matter of fact. Best birthday present ever! Bethany sent me a copy of Julie Klassen’s latest book way back in Oct, I think. Loved it! So my choice would be:

A Weekend on Allyson Island by Susannah B Lewis (Dec 9) Thanks for the giveaway opportunity, Kav, & stay warm!

    1. P.S. If this book doesn’t work let me know & I’ll look for another. We did discuss this book during RC week, but looking at it now on Amazon, I’m unsure whether it’s CF. Thomas Nelson is the publisher. 🤔

      1. It works – Thomas Nelson is a Christian publisher after all. You’ll just have to read the book to determine whether is has any faith elements in it. 🙂 Happy Early Birthday, Diane. Good luck!

  2. If fortunate enough to be selected, I would LOVE the opportunity to read WHISPERS AT PAINSWICH COURT by Julie Klassen.  How can you go wrong when it’s described as Regency Romance, mystery and compares it to Agatha Christie and Jane Austen!  Plus, it including getting to do some armchair traveling as well.

    Releases on December 2, 2025.

Thank you so much for the chance!

May today – the first day of both the week and month – set you off on the right footing with many amazing days to come.

  3. Hello December! I’d like to read Belle Calhoune’s An Alaskan Christmas Prayer. One of those tropes we were talking about during our dream bookstore convo, a cafe/bookstore setting 🙂

I know Harlequin releases their Dec books a week early so if this one doesn’t qualify, I can pick another. Harlequin books always confuse me on their release dates, which counts on Best Reads.

Thanks for the giveaway and happy December reading! tracey14567 atgmaildotom

  4. December has begun with cold and rain here in my part of Texas. Great day for reading while sipping a cup of chai.

  7. We are definitely in winter mode here. We had snow and icy roads for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. And the temperatures aren’t really warming up, so we will keep the snow for Christmas. We have 2 more chances of snow this week. Our high temps for the last few days have been around 15, and we reached 25 today.

I choose AT Morning’s Light by Lauraine Snelling. Thank you for a chance to win!

    1. I’m on tenterhooks over this one. I preordered it way back in September and the Canadian online bookstore says it still hasn’t been released yet but today is release day so they are wrong!!!! 🙂 Good luck, Pam!

  8. I would choose the Something Borrowed novella collection by Susie Finkbeiner, Allison Pittman & Rachel Scott McDaniel. I must support a Christy Award winner! Whispers at Painswick Court is clearly the popular frontrunner this time, fortunately it’s on its way to me.
