A Weary World Rejoices + Giveaway

With nothing going as planned, will Christmas be a complete disaster this year?

The people in these stories are tired, weighed down by the struggles and cares of life. In the midst of their challenging situations, each receives an unexpected letter.

❅ The Christmas Kiss – Stacy Monson
❅ Unremarkable Sue – Eleanor Bertin
❅ Love, Christmas – Johnnie Alexander
❅ Gifting Christmas – Angela D. Meyer
❅ The Back Door Christmas Tour Company – Sara Davison

Songs like “O Holy Night” are filling the airwaves and promising hope for a weary world, but what will it take for the men and women in these stories to experience true joy this Christmas?

A Weary World Rejoices is a collection of five stories about discovering joy in the midst of life’s challenges—at Christmas and every day of the year.

My Review:

An eclectic collection of short stories and novellas that celebrate the true meaning of Christmas. Each story focuses on discovering love, generosity and hope in the midst of troubles during the holiday season.

The Christmas Kiss by Stacy Monson – Warning: chocolate cravings guaranteed if you read this story! Piper’s new chocolate shop is a bustling success, until disaster strikes and threatens her business. Property manager Finn is eager to come to her rescue and a sweet, awkward, hesitant romance begins to blossom.

Uremarkable Sue by Eleanor Bertin – A short story featuring a young woman who is often overlooked as she quietly serves others until her true worth is finally recognized.

Love, Christmas by Johnnie Alexander – Another short story that illustrates the beauty of giving. A grieving widow plays secret Santa to a struggling college student and the mystery gift giving snowballs through the town.

Gifting Christmas by Angela D. Meyer – Weary innkeepers who have closed their inn for the holidays (and a much deserved rest) welcome in a diverse mix of stranded travellers in the middle of a snowstorm. Chaos ensues and everyone one very nearly misses out on the spirit of Christmas!

The Back Door Christmas Tour Company by Sara Davison – Christmas in Tahiti! This novella has a mysterious air, an almost magical (supernatural) element which set the mood beautifully. A group of strangers are gathered together to create a memorable Christmas holiday that somehow meets all their varied needs. It features a significant inspirational thread that is seamlessly woven throughout the story and includes a light romance.

    1. Yes! I’m really getting in the Christmas reading spirit! Just started a Regency romance that has been on my TBR for awhile only to discover it takes place during the Christmas season! It’s fate! Bring on the Christmas books indeed! Happy Reading, Tracey.

  2. Thank you for the fabulous chance to win a copy of A WEARY WORLD REJOICES!

I’m more than ready to get into the Christmas frame of mind by read Christmas stories. Love that this book is several short stories. Often times in the rush of life, we often have times for a shorter story instead of a full length book. Not only does this fit the bill, but from your review it sounds like it also deals with the true meaning of the holiday – not just the feasts and presents. Love those kind of stories that give us a gentle reminder of what the holiday season SHOULD be about.

    1. I wasn’t expecting to find such a variety in word length but it would be a great advantage during the busy Christmas season, you could easily read a story in under an hour. And it’s always fun to see how different authors approach a common theme in a novella collection. Good luck, Kay!

  4. Kav – thanks for reading A Weary World Rejoices! The title and stories work very well for our world at this time. The Mosaic Collection is switching things up a bit this winter. Instead of focusing specifically on Christmas, it’s winter oriented. Actually it’s Skipping Winter oriented, which those of us in sub-freezing climes really appreciate. 😀

  6. I’m definitely not a big Christmas story reader. It’s not that I don’t like books centered around Christmas, it …. Well I actually don’t really know why I don’t prefer them or pass them over for something else. But for the sake of reading a new authors book I’ll try this one. In fact I don’t recognize any of these authors.

      1. Actually no I do love Christmas movies. So I guess that sounds kind of different that I don’t prefer the books. I really don’t know why.
