For digital content creator Cretia Martin, home is wherever her carry-on suitcase lands. And it’s constantly landing in new places as she travels the world. She’s never been interested in settling in one spot–after all, houses are just places that collect junk and tie you down. But when she literally bumps into local dog breeder Finn Chaffey on Prince Edward Island and all of the tools of her trade end up in the harbor, she can’t exactly leave until she gets things sorted out.
Finn is horrified by the part he played in the accident and offers to help, arranging for Cretia to stay with a friend at the beautiful Red Door Inn. The longer Cretia is forced to remain in one place, the more she discovers what she’s been missing with life on the road–and the more she wants to see Finn and his business succeed. But helping him means staying put, the one thing she always swore she wouldn’t do, and risking the only thing she’s never put on the line–her heart.
New York Times bestselling author Liz Johnson invites you back to the Red Door Inn on Prince Edward Island for an inspiring story full of adorable puppies, sweet friendship, and unexpected romance.
My Review:
Well, this is embarrassing. I actually don’t have a review. I usually read a week or two in advance for the blog so my reviews are all scheduled to go and I don’t feel any pressure but sometimes I am soooooo looking forward to a book that I want to read it the second it comes out. ‘Sometimes You Stay’ is that kind of a book so I preordered it on audible (awesome preorder price!) and, thinking it released on May 6th, I went ahead and scheduled it for review this week. Only, oops, it doesn’t actually release until May 20th so we still have two whole weeks to wait! Sigh.
But I promised a giveaway, so here it is. I can also promise this will be an excellent read because…Liz Johnson! Prince Edward Island setting! Newfoundland dog on the cover! (Which is the only thing I like about the cover, FYI)
And, hey, if you have managed to nab a review copy, share a thought or two in the comments below and increase the ecstatic agony of our bookish anticipation!

I’m ready to go back to the Red Door Inn with you. It’s been quite awhile since I have been there; actually, since they first opened. I join you in looking forward to it and hope the same neighbors are nearby and will stop over! Kathleen lanehillhouse(at)gmail(dot)com

Oh, and the excitement builds! I was wondering if you had gotten an early review copy.
This is the next book on my got-to-read-it list for May! and it can be agony waiting for the next anticipated book, I just try to keep busy with other books and not think about it too much, haha.
Thanks for the giveaway, and I’m looking forward to your review 😉 tracey14567 at gmail .com

I was sooooo crushed when Tuesday rolled around and this book wasn’t waiting for me in my audible library! 🙂 I don’t know how I mixed up the dates! Ah well, the more time to bask in bookish anticipation! Good luck, Tracey!

Don’t you just love it when you have everything worked out only to find your timing is off. Look at it this way early is always better than late. ❤
I’m like you on the cover. It won’t be one that reached out and said “read me”, but seeing the author’s name would still have me picking up the book to check it out. YES, author, setting and dog all yell that it’s going to be an awesome read.
Thank you so much for the chance to win a copy of SOMETIMES YOU STAY! If fortunate enough to be selected, I’d be right there with you waiting patiently (yeah right LOL) for release day.

Grrrrr….so exasperated with myself! It sees like most of the May books are releasing on the 6th or the 20th this month so the odds were 50/50 but I still goofed. 🙂 Good luck, Kay!

I totally get it. Seems like the books need to hurry up & release in May! lol There’s a great deal going on for a book on my list (like a $5.99 deal)! I went over to snag it on May 6 & it releases on May 13th. (ugh) I pre-ordered Elena Bradford from BBH (way too much on Amazon) & it hasn’t arrived either! More ecstatic agony. 😕
Please enter me as this one is also on my wishlist. If I win a copy I won’t even complain about the corny, cartoony cover. 😂

Seems like when a plot line isn’t keeping us on the edge of our seat, the release dates are! Bwahahaha! And yes, the cartoony cover…shudder…except for the dog. He looks good on it, but I also have a soft spot for Newfies. Good luck, Diane!

Liz Johnson is an excellent writer!! Though I’ve only read two of her series, I always look forward to a new book by her. This one is on my radar!
And I agree with the cover, I don’t care for the “cartoonish” ones that seem so popular today.

I’m not crazy about the cartoony cover, either, Kav. However, because it’s a Liz Johnson book, I’d read it anyway! Thanks for the chance to win! We’ll look forward to your review later.

Waiting (im)patiently for the 20th. 🙂 Though I am somewhat mollified because Sunrise Reef by Irene Hannon releases in three days according to my audible preorder so….eeeeppppp! Good luck, Sandy!

LOL! I love Liz’s books, so I have no trouble trusting that this will be another great story! I’m another one who’s hoping these types of covers will fade into the never-to-be-seen-again distance! Looking forward to visiting the Red Door Inn again. I really need to go back and reread the series, because they’ve been spaced out with more time between them, and I’ve forgotten a lot! Thanks for the opportunity to win a copy!

I always enjoy a trip back to Prince Edward Island and the Red Door Inn. I agree with you about the cover. It doesn’t fit with the covers of the other Red Door Inn books. Though it may not technically be a part of the RDI series, it seems like it should be compatible since I would shelve it with those books. Maybe it’s just one of those book nerd things that makes me want that. I always enjoy Liz’s books.

Ooohhh, good point about the cover not fitting with the earlier books. That’s disappointing. Hadn’t thought of that before. This time round I’ll be listening to it so the cover won’t matter as much but I’d be mildly discombobulated if I was adding the print edition to my bookshelves next to the other series. Book nerds unite! 🙂 Good luck, Pam!

I want the cartoon covers to stop. Lol! It’s embarrassing to show what I’m reading. It looks like teenage stuff.
