April New Releases + Giveaway

It’s a new Best Reads blog tradition! Celebrating the month’s new releases the first week of each month.

Because I recently discovered that a book’s success or failure is often determined by first month sales! (Though I bet preorders play into that as well.) Publishing houses look at those stats to determine whether they’ll add on to a series or accept the author’s next manuscript! All that literary goodness hanging in the balance but for a month’s worth of sales! (This was a cozy mystery author, but I imagine all traditional publishers use the same ‘system’.) So, I thought I should do my wee little bit to promote Christian Fiction.

By hosting a special “Hello — insert month” giveaway. It’s easy to play along. You just have to choose one of the April 2025 new releases on your TBR wishlist (must be Christian Fiction) and mention the title in a comment below (or email me at kavluvstoread AT yahoo DOT ca.) If your name is drawn, that April release is the book you will win and we’re one book count closer to keeping our fave authors in business.

  1. The Voice We Find By Nicole Deese.

Just got Jaime’s new book yesterday and can’t wait to dive in on it! Unfortunately I have ARC deadlines so I have to read those first lol.

  2. I forgot about Hello April because of RC week!

Sunrise Reef by Irene Hannon Hopefully by next week the full retail will have dropped. I’ve been watching Revell and Bethany releases and have noticed they seem to have a price drop the week after release. I am waiting all the new releases out for that to happen, sigh…

  3. Hello April. April showers bring May flowers 💐 and we had a nice spring rain yesterday.

Tempest at Annabel’s Lighthouse by Jaime Jo Wright.

“If at 1st you don’t succeed, try, try again.” Ha! I’m full of quotes this morning. Looking forward to Sunrise Reef, but only had a few days to pre-order it at BBH or I’d lose out on pre-order sale. Price was way down from Amazon’s & shipping was free. Have no clue when it’ll come, however. I also have a harder time reading pprbks than ebooks, but hopefully the print won’t be too tiny. Hope April is good to you, Kav, especially weather-wise!

    3. Hello April! The start to spring has been a bit difficult weather wise here in SC. We have a major wildfire going on in a state park about 30 minutes from us. We did get some rain over the weekend and it is now about 40% contained I think. And here you are getting snow!

My April pick would have to be The Keeper by Charles Martin

      1. I had heard about the wildfires in SC — super early for them, isn’t it? And, yes, we still have tons of snow and freezing temperatures – 10 today will be the high. Ugh. Good luck, Patty!

      1. This is only a one choice giveaway, Stephanie. I know, it’s always confusing when we come off a Reader’s Choice Week, but our new release month giveaways are just one choice so I’ve picked your first one but if you want to switch that to one of the others let me know and I’ll change it. Good luck!

    4. Welcome to April (what happened to March? It flew by). I’ll choose The Curious Inheritance of Blakeley House by Joanna Davidson Politano. I was hoping the library would order it, but they are closing for a couple of weeks for repairs, so who knows? Time to get caught up on my hold deluge!

    10. I can’t believe it’s already April! 😳 this year is flying by! I’m not sure if this book works or not, but I just heard about it and thought it sounded interesting. It says it’s a historical mystery with Christian themes, however, I’m not familiar with the author. The Victory Party by Emma Donovan
