A Happy New Year for me means happily perusing websites for the first new releases coming out this winter. There’s nothing like wiling away a cold winter’s day in the company of a good book and a cuppa hot cocoa. And it’s that time again — when we get to look ahead and plot out our reading futures…and that’s where this Reader’s Choice Week comes into play.
Here’s how this week’s giveaway works: You recommend CHRISTIAN FICTION genre specific titles with release dates in January, February or March 2025 (up to 3 suggestions per genre day) and you have a chance to win one of your recommendations! BUT it’s a little more complicated than that so be sure to read ALL the details before entering.
IMPORTANT TO NOTE: These giveaways are available in paperback or ebook format to US and Canadian readers. Ebooks available internationally if you have a .com kindle account (US Amazon)
IT’S MYSTERY/SUSPENSE FICTION GIVEAWAY DAY!
To be entered in the draw just leave a comment (or 3) below, including the title(s) of the books in the Mystery/Suspense Fiction genre you would like to win.
Mystery/Suspense Fiction – a full length story or novella or collection of novellas where mystery is an important part of the plot. The hero or heroine (or both) are often in peril (more so in suspense). Can be set in any time period and may cross genres such as YA, , Amish etc. and may include dual timelines.
How does it work?
Easy Peasy! Make recommendations in the comment section and if you win, you win the book you suggested.
BUT YOU GOTTA FOLLOW THE RULES!
Publication date must be January, February or March 2025
Each day is genre specific, so only submit titles from that genre
Christian Fiction books only please!
You can offer up to three suggestions per genre day BUT they need to be made in 3 separate comments (easier for me to keep track of.)
No email entries this time round since WP comments are working
OF SPECIAL NOTE: IF YOU HAVEN’T COMMENTED ON THIS BLOG BEFORE, YOUR FIRST COMMENT WON’T APPEAR UNTIL I APPROVE IT. AFTER THAT YOUR COMMENTS WILL POST AUTOMATICALLY.
Entrants must submit their own selections (no piggybacking on someone else’s log in.)
It’s helpful to include your email (using AT and DOT instead of @ and . to protect yourself from spammers) but you only need to add it to one of your comments per day. If you choose not to include your email then it’s up to you to contact me if you are a winner.
DRAW WILL BE HELD AND WINNER ANNOUNCED ON
Saturday January 11 2025
(You can enter any of the giveaways up until noon on January 11. Winners will be announced later that afternoon.)
SECRETS BETWEEN THE SHELVES novella collection looks super fun!

The Rise and Fall of Miss Fannie’s Biscuits sounds like so much fun — starting with that unique title! Good luck, Kimmy!

The title caught me, then I saw that it takes place in Sugarcreek, Ohio. That’s only about an hour and a half away from us and we go there a couple times a year! Now, I have to read it!

Do crossovers work? The Unraveling of Emlyn DuLaine is also a portal fantasy, but it also looks like there’s some mystery interwoven.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Oooohhh, yes this works. There’s a mystery to be solved and any kind of crossover works as long as that mystery is an important part of the plot and it sure sounds like it is. This looks amazing! I need to venture into Fantasy more. Good luck, Stephanie!

Hey, Stephanie! Are you on Goodreads btw? I searched for you, but there’s only like a 1,000 or more Stephanies on GRs. 🤣 I’m on there under DianFlow.

Hi, Diane! Thank you! I (hopefully?) just added you by going through Kav’s list of friends. My username is Stephanie’s Ninth Suitcase 🙂

Also a crossover 😉 if I’m able to justify this as suspense: Truth Cursed

I was gonna use this one myself! I believe it should work, as it’s categorized under suspense/mystery on Amazon😉

by Angie Dickinson? Another Enclave Escape book, right? I’m assuming so but just checking because there are a humber of books with that title. And yes, this one fits too — school for espionage and a heroine with an interesting curse? Yes please! Me rushing over to Enclave’s website to see what other gems are lurking there. Good luck, Stephanie!

Thanks, Stephanie! No wonder I couldn’t find you. I ran Stephanies ninth suitcase all together like you have it here and it wouldn’t come up that way 🙄

Oh whoops! Yeah that is confusing. Sorry about that. Thanks for connecting 🙂 (are you the one currently reading “The Twelve Days of Murder”?) lol

You’re welcome! No, not reading that one. Just finished ‘Even if We Cry’ by Terrie Todd. It was sooo good, but completely out of my comfort zone bc it’s set during WWII. I just found out about her and so far I’ve read 3 of her books in a row. Lol She’s amazing!

I’m usually on Nancy’s street team, but her town closed their post office & she couldn’t mail her books out. So not sure if she’s having a street team this go round.

Hmmm…Nancy Mehl is starting a new series? Maybe I should try again? Though I think I’ll wait until my library gets a copy…just in case I’m too much of a scaredy cat. Ugh — I can’t imagine not having a post office close by but losing one for the whole town?! Signs of the times I guess. I need to dive back into some of these indie books by authors I’ve enjoyed in the past. Lynn Shannon is one of them. Woot! On my list now. Good luck, Diane! Happy reading…and napping! 🙂

P.S. Mary Alford has 2 new suspense books releasing this quarter if anyone is interested. Her books are good! Beside the Dead & Seeking Evil

Thanks, Diane. I am definitely interested. Mary Alford is another author I used to enjoy with Love Inspired Suspense. So many of them branched out into indie publishing and I need to hunt them down and start reading them again.

Seeking Evil is book 3 in her Hallowed Halls series. I’ve read the 1st two & they were very good! If I’m remembering correctly they don’t need to be read in sequence. But series usually are better if you can. Beside the Dead is a standalone like Among the Innocent.
I think Nancy has a post office in a nearby town, but I ended up buying an ebook of her last book to save her the trouble. Bethany House used to send me a copy. Do they even do that anymore or is the author always responsible to get her books out to her street team now? 🤔

Thanks for the info, Diane. I know here in Canada, we no longer get print books to review from Baker Publishing. We used to get them through a marketing firm here in Ontario and we could request up to four titles of a selection of new releases. But they just stopped without any notice about a year ago. Not sure if it was Baker or the firm not wanting to pay shipping costs or a bit of both. Very sad for me. 😦

I know it is. 😢 Sorry. I’ve heard from different authors about the ecopies they send out via email & people just want a free book, then don’t review it. Might be a combination of that & what you said about shipping costs. 🤷♀️ It’s sad that a few spoil it for those of us who are sincere & want to read & write an honest review of the book. 😔

What is it about Susan May Warren’s new series and those guys with intense eyes on the cover?! Swoon! Yay you, plotting to stay on target with that series. I have no idea how anyone can keep up with her books — she releases so often on top of all the edition and publishing stuff she does. Whew! Good luck, Tracey!
