      1. Jody Hedlund has three books coming out in October and November if anyone needs more suggestions. They are A Wife for the Rancher (Book 3), Wrangling the Wandering Rancher (Book 4), and Wishing for the Rancher’s Love (Book 5).

  1. Good morning Kav and Best Reads followers! How is it time for another Readers Choice week? And Fall is here! I’m so ready for cooler temps, woke up to 61 degrees this morning and I’m loving it! 77 for the high, my favorite kind of day 🙂

What a perfect way to start the day, picking out books we all are anticipating.

The Queen’s Cook by Tessa Afshar 11/19 I rarely have the patience for 400 page books anymore, but Tessa is one of the writers who makes the cut.

    1. Cloaked in Beauty by Karen Witemeyer 12/17

*I got the chance to read Hope Like Wildflowers for review and it’s the icing on the cake for this 3 book series, loved it and highly recommend it! So now I’m looking for that 3rd entry book, I just know one of our readers will have one for me.

thanks for the giveaway fun this week Kav! As ever Best Reads is my favorite blog!

      1. Okay, first off I really need to get more fully on the Tessa Afshar bandwagon. I have read one or two and really enjoyed them but every time I think about getting one of her books the whole biblical fiction thing scares me off. lol Maybe that needs to be a written in ink reading goal for next year.

So — how love triangle-y was Hope Like Wildflowers? I love Pepper Basham’s books but the back cover makes it sound super angsty with a major love triangle.

Yay for me basking in cooler temperatures — at last! — and it’s even raining this morning so very easy to stay inside and keep up with comments on the blog. 🙂 Good luck, Tracey!

        1. Hope Like Wildflowers isn’t triangle-y at all, not like you’re thinking anyway. I don’t care for that trope either! This is Pepper’s grandmother’s story! More of a story about a young inexperienced girl in love with love who gets a rude awakening and starts making more mature choices, making her able to deal with her past better. That’s all I can say but if you want to read my review here’s the link Hope Like Wildflowers~ One of the BEST books of the year! 5 outstanding stars! (amazon.com)

I know what you are saying about biblical fiction scaring you off. I held out for a long time concerned it would mess with my Bible memory. But it’s not like that, for me anyway. It really is more about an inspirational story set in that time period that enhances the scriptures and makes me want to start looking things up. I count that a plus. She is one of my top 2 in this genre, Connilyn Cossette being the other.

        2. Great review, Tracey. Okay, you’ve convinced me — I won’t drag my heels on Pepper’s book. 🙂

I do prefer biblical fiction where the characters are fictional…so not a made up account of a real person from the bible…so maybe that’s where I should concentrate when I get brave and pick up my next biblical fiction read.

    2. Happy Fall, y’all! The day it turned Fall the temps flew back up into the 90s. Not nice Fall. 😩 Can’t believe it’s time for another RCW, but I so love them. My TBR is looking a little puny.

      1. So sorry that your fall isn’t living up to temperature expectations! Our bizarre September heatwave broke on Sunday and it’s blissfully cool today….you’ld likely call it downright chilly but it feels just right for me! Ohhh, yes to Jaime Jo Wright’s new suspense coming out! I have loved all her books. And Michelle Shocklee has become a new fave author for me too so I have my eye on that one too. Good luck, Diane!

        1. So glad your heatwave broke, but I think Canada decided to send it our way. Seriously tho, our weather’s so fickle this time of year. One year it was 70° on Christmas day. 70 is perfect, but not when I’m dreaming of a white Christmas! 😕🎄 My pain levels are high at these temps & didn’t go for my morning walk bc when it was cooler it was still dark out. Sigh…

        2. So, no dreaming of a white Christmas for you if it’s 70 degrees! Not wanting to gloat or anything but I’m heading out for my second walk of the day and it’s cool enough to wear a light sweater. Bliss! Ugh to pain levels and weather — no fun at all!

        3. So happy for your sweater weather bliss, but a bit jealous, too. 😉 But methinks you’re taking another walk in my place so I can deal with that! 😄 It’s supposed to cool down later this week, but rain. Ugh to pain levels & rain, too. I’m such a wimp.

    5. I love fall and the cooler temperatures! Ironically we’d been having nice autumn weather, until the “official” start day of fall. Now it feel like summer again!

      1. Mother Nature just likes to mess with us! At least reading is an all season sport so it doesn’t matter what it’s doing outside. I’m really looking forward to this one too. Good luck, Sabrina!

    6. Always enjoyable to read suggestions and early review comments by others. I discovered that all on my original list from looking at publisher websites seem to be popular today. Into the Sunset by Mary Connealy. This has been a good series.

    7. The Seaside Homecoming by Julie Klassen. I have read one book from each of the three series of my selections. Better odds than typical but I am trying to better keep up with series from favorite authors. Thanks for this fun and informative quarterly project!

      1. I am so looking forward to Roseanna White’s book — that might have to be an audible preorder. 🙂 And I’ve enjoyed Julie Klassen’s series but totally missed Mary Connealy’s new series so I have some catching up to do there. Good luck, CC!
