September New Releases Giveaway

HELLO SEPTEMBER!

It’s a Best Reads blog tradition! Celebrating the month’s new releases the first week of each month.

WHY?

Because I recently discovered that a book’s success or failure is often determined by first month sales! (Though I bet preorders play into that as well.) Publishing houses look at those stats to determine whether they’ll add on to a series or accept the author’s next manuscript! All that literary goodness hanging in the balance but for a month’s worth of sales! (This was a cozy mystery author, but I imagine all traditional publishers use the same ‘system’.) So, I thought I should do my wee little bit to promote Christian Fiction.

HOW?

By hosting a special “Hello — insert month” giveaway. It’s easy to play along. You just have to choose ONE of the September 2024 new releases on your TBR wishlist (must be Christian Fiction) and mention the title in a comment below (or email me at kavluvstoread AT yahoo DOT ca.) If your name is drawn, that September release is the book you will win and we’re one book count closer to keeping our fave authors in business.

    There are so many good books releasing this month, it’s hard to decide! I find my curiosity being piqued by The Lost Library by Melissa Koslin, so I’ll go with that choice.

    1. Ah, thanks, Karen! I love my Christian Fiction, that’s for sure. And The Lost Library — we somehow missed that one during our last Reader’s Choice Week…at least I did. How intriguing! Almost sounds like there’s a bit of a fantasy element to it. Good luck, Karen.   4. I’m happy dancing it’s September, woohoo! Even though our heat index was 99 degrees yesterday, eek, I can tell things are changing and I’m ready for it. I even put out my Fall wreath yesterday 🙂

    There are so many good books coming out in September! I always wonder why publishers bunch them together like that. It makes it hard to pick what you really are wanting to read next. I have been on a Christmas book roll though and that cover of Roseanna White’s new book is calling to me. So my Hello September choice is:

  7. Good morning, Kav! And hello September! I just went for my before it gets too hot walk, and it was already too hot. 😅 Ugh . . . I can’t wait till fall so I can walk in the early evenings. Anyway I’ve been waiting for this book for quite a while now and it’s probably #1 on my list along with another that releases in Oct. Thank you for a chance to win it!

        I’ll have to admit to being slightly jealous about your 9:00 stroll. 😏 But I’ll try not to gloat this winter when I head out the door in a light jacket & you can’t get out cuz the snow’s piled up against your door. Bwahahahaha Seriously, though, I do feel bad for you & your long, snowy winters. I know it’s hard for you to get out. Now I’m not happy about Sept or Fall. I’m depressed about you & your snowstorms! 😢

      2. I’d actually rather snow than the heat of summer. At least I can walk in the winter and exercise in my home but I was just pretty much stagnant this summer but for one early morning walk and a wee bit of gardening. At least I can bundle up for the cold and still go out.

      3. Ok, if you say so I’ll dry up my tears now. Actually, I get it bc the heat has been pretty paralyzing. I stay in way too much. Going out to the mailbox takes my breath away, the humidity is so bad! I guess that’s why Fall is such a great season. You can take a leisurely walk any time of the day with a light jacket & here in the South we do bonfires & fall fests. I tend to do a lot of hibernating though in mid-winter just like I do in the summer, but there’s always books! 😃

  11. I already have this on pre-order, so no need to enter me into the drawing, but Elizabeth Camden has her first contemporary romance called Summerlin Groves! (coming out on the 24th). Since it was announced pretty recently and independently published books can fly under the radar, I wanted to be sure you heard about it!

    1. Squealll!!! Thanks for sharing that, Rachael! It looks wonderful — second chance romance with a bit of mystery! Right now it’s listed only as a kindle book but I’m hoping a paperback will become an option closer to the release date. That seems to be the case with a lot of indie books. Woohoo — you’ve added to my exploding TBR wishlist!!

      1. To Charm a Lady is the second one of the Cartwells series…and both are absolutely must-reads!!

        I believe the one I picked is a stand-alone, if I’m correct. I just love Joanna’s writing 💖

    1. This is one of those crazy releases where one format comes out two weeks before other formats, so I’m counting it as September since that’s when the kindle edition comes out. But, if a winner wants the paperback they’ll just have to wait until October 1. Good luck, Cindy!
