Lord Farnsworth would rather rot in debtor’s prison than sell the one place that feels like home to him—his mother’s manor. That is, until he meets the woman who wants to buy it. Sally Duncan is beautiful, intelligent, and as rich as a baron—a rich baron, not a cash-strapped one like Lord Farnsworth. She’s the solution to every one of his financial problems and is bewitching to boot. All he needs to do is sell her his beloved manor and then charm her to the altar, and the manor will be his again. Simple, right?

But nothing is simple when Sally starts tearing apart his ancestral home and renovating it in a way no one would consider tasteful. She is wreaking havoc on everything, but he cannot give up on owning his mother’s estate again, nor can he imagine anyone but Sally as his wife.

And so he sticks with his plan.

I’ve had my eye on this book for a long time. The playful cover art and the clever title initially drew my attention . Plus, I kept hearing great things about the story so I have no idea why it took me so long to finally hit the ‘Buy Now’ button on Audible! But I did and then flew through Noah Wall’s entertaining narration, laughing all the way.

In a word, this book is: BRILLIANT! From the banter to the side characters to the oh so charming dunderhead of a hero! Bless his heart, he means well…more or less…but he hadn’t counted on Sally being so…Sallyish! 🙂

Strong heroine, kinda clueless (but not totally) hero, delightfully clashing wills, lots of playful moments, some toe-curling kisses and, well, there’s plenty to swoon over when it comes to ‘Manor for Sale, Baron Included.’ I definitely won’t be waiting as long to dive into the rest of the series!

  2. I really enjoyed this book. My favorite Esther Hatch book is A Proper Scoundrel! It’s such fun! Don’t enter me in this drawing. I’ve already read and loved it!

Between the cover and the title, I was immediately drawn, but I’ve still not had the opportunity to read this delightful sounding book. I would very much like to change that from want to read to have read and reviewed. You have re-awoken by desire to read this book and for that I am very thankful.     This was one of the many books by Esther I’ve read! Such a delightfully witty read 😉 Which in turn reminds me, I need to read the third book in this series “There Goes the Groom” when it comes out in April!

  14. Sometimes I just need a book that is pure fun to read. Manor for Sale, Baron Included sounds like it would be just the thing. I’ve heard of the author but have yet to read her books. Thanks for letting us know about this book.

    1. Yes! This was my reward for working my way through an out-of-comfort-zone read — which was fantastic — but I needed some bibliophile therapy afterwards and this was just the ticket. 🙂 Good luck, Pam!
