November New Releases Giveaway!

It’s a new Best Reads blog tradition! Celebrating the month’s new releases the first week of each month.

Because I recently discovered that a book’s success or failure is often determined by first month sales! (Though I bet preorders play into that as well.) Publishing houses look at those stats to determine whether they’ll add on to a series or accept the author’s next manuscript! All that literary goodness hanging in the balance but for a month’s worth of sales! (This was a cozy mystery author, but I imagine all traditional publishers use the same ‘system’.) So, I thought I should do my wee little bit to promote Christian Fiction.

By hosting a special “Hello — insert month” giveaway. It’s easy to play along. You just have to choose one of the November 2023 new releases on your TBR wishlist (must be Christian Fiction) and mention the title in a comment below (or email me at kavluvstoread AT yahoo DOT ca.) If your name is drawn, that September release is the book you will win and we’re one book count closer to keeping our fave authors in business.

      1. It is really good. Different from a lot of Christian suspense in that it has the same main character throughout the series, and not much romance at all so far, but leading that way 🙂

    1. Eeeepppp — yesssss — I’m definitely in the mood for some Turano humour! Good luck, Kathryn. Oh — and I deleted your second choice because these mostly release giveaways are only for one entry.

  4. Hi Kav,
How is everything up your way? We are having a very cold November 1! But, the sun is shining, so I love that. It’s hard to chose a book for this month–so many good ones, but I’m going with A Courageous Betrothal (Scouts of the Georgia Frontier Book 2) by Denise Weimer. I always enjoy her stories. Thanks so much for offering a choice this week! Blessings…

      1. I know! It’s impossible to keep up with all the good Christian writers! I remember back in the early years devouring all of Angela Hunt’s and Terry Blackstock’s books. It was such a joy going to the bookstore and seeing the new books come out. My, how times have changed! I remember before the Love Inspired and the Heartsong books, there was another publisher that put out at least a hundred books or more, but I can’t remember who the authors were or the name of the series. Of course there was Janette Oke, which has written so many books that have been loved. And I’m really dating myself here, but I think the first couple of adult Christian fiction books I read were “The Robe” by Douglas Lloyd and The Silver Chalice by Thomas Costain.

  7. Kav, since I’ve seen others listing it, I’ll say The Juliet Code by Pepper Basham, but I’ve seen a release date for it of Dec 1. If it ends up not qualifying for this Nov giveaway, I’ll say The Warsaw Sisters by Amanda Barratt. I’ve already preordered it, but I know it will be so good, I’ll want another copy to give away 🙂

    1. It looks like the Kindle edition comes out on November 15 and the paperback comes out on December 1 — so it count’s for this giveaway and if you want the paperback copy you’d just have to wait a little longer. Good luck, Cheryl!

  8. Hey Kav, here we are in Nov and I’ve already lost a day, or two! Our fiberoptic cable got cut by a new company coming into the area and we didn’t have internet for a couple of days. It was like the stone age all over again, lol. .So now I’m playing catchup.
Hope all is well in your world. We woke up to 39 degrees, not ready for winter yet while it’s still Fall. Looking forward to Sat. when it’s going back up to 70!

The next book on my Nov list is It’s Your Love by Rachel Russel, Nov 7th I believe.
thanks for the giveaway and stay warm up there!

    1. Horrors! How did we get so dependent on the Internet? You must have been going antsy. Glad it’s fixed now. It’s been getting colder this past few days and I’ve been trying to put my garden to bed for the winter. Silly flowers are still blooming in some cases, but if I don’t cut them back now I’ll be out there when’s it’s super freezing and the won’t be any fun! I’d rather be reading! 🙂 Good luck, Tracey!

  9. I’m choosing A Million Little Pieces by Tamera Alexander. My library won’t get it due to her “controversial” book a year or so (which really wasn’t, just historical fact). Tamera Alexander is amazing!
