Reader’s Choice Giveaway, Fall Into Books Edition — Historical Fiction

The leaves are starting to change colour, the nights are getting cooler (hallelujah!) and there’s a distinct scent of Autumn in the air. What else is a dedicated bibliophile to do but celebrate the new season with new books?! But I need your help to fatten up my TBR wishlist. So let’s get this weeklong Reader’s Choice party started!

Here’s how this week’s giveaways works: You recommend CHRISTIAN FICTION genre specific titles with release dates in October, November or December 2023 (up to three suggestions per genre day) and you have a chance to win one of your recommendations! BUT it’s a little more complicated than that so be sure to read ALL the details before entering.

IMPORTANT TO NOTE: These giveaways are available in paperback or ebook format to US and Canadian readers. Ebooks available internationally if you have a .com kindle account (US Amazon)

IT’S HISTORICAL ROMANCE / FICTION GIVEAWAY DAY!

To be entered in the draw just leave a comment (or 3) below, including the title(s) of the book(s) in the Historical Romance / Fiction genre you would like to win.

Historical Romance / Fiction — a full length story or novella or collection of novellas set in any time period before 1980. May cross genres such as YA, Suspense, Amish etc and may include dual timelines.

How does it work?

Easy peasy! Make recommendations in the comment section and if you win, you win the book you suggested.

BUT YOU GOTTA FOLLOW THE RULES!

  • Publication date must be October, November or December 2023
  • Each day is genre specific, so only submit titles from that genre
  • Christian Fiction books only please!
  • You can offer up to three suggestions per genre day BUT they need to be made in 3 separate comments (easier for me to keep track of.)
  • No email entries this time round since comments are working on WP

  • Entrants must submit their own selections (no piggybacking on someone else’s log in.)
  • It’s helpful to include your email (using AT and DOT instead of @ and . to protect yourself from spammers) but you only need to add it to one of your comments per day. If you choose not to include your email, then it’s up to you to contact me if you are a winner.

    1. Yep — The Lost Boys of Barlowe Theatre counts ’cause there’s a historical element courtesy of the dual timeline. Didn’t realize this one was coming out so soon — just a couple of weeks! And, I love Erica Vetsch so anticipating that one too. Good luck, Mark!

  11. I loved Heidi Kimball’s Heart in the Highland’s so I’m going to try her upcoming October release, A Not-So-Distant Love. I don’t remember seeing many hyphenated titles like that, interesting.

    1. Eeeeppp — a new Jody Hedlund book featuring Irish immigrants?! And an arranged marriage? Double eeeppp!! Heidi Kimball is an author I need to read more and this one looks intriguing. And though I’m not a huge biblical fiction fan, Tessa Afshar might change my opinion! 🙂 Good luck, Tracey.   15. Happy fall, Kav! Can’t believe it’s time for another RCW! I’ve got 2 choices so far. I had 3 but read a review that Jaime Jo Wright’s book includes a physic medium who raises or talks to the dead so that’s a deal breaker. So far here’s what I got.

    1) A Not-So-Distant-Love by Heidi Kimball (Oct 24)

    1. WP has been wonky for me too. Sometimes I go to reply to a comment and it tells me I have to sign in, but I’m already signed in so I soldier on and voila here I am. It only happens every couple of days though. So strange. That is disappointing about Jaime Jo Wright’s book — might be a dealbreaker for me too. Though, she usually has a paranormal-ish element that proves to be man made rather than true hocus-pocus, so maybe that will be the case with this one too? We’ll have look for some reviews once it’s out. Good luck, Diane!

      1. One reviewer on Goodreads was disappointed because she said there was voodoo & a psychic medium, but all the other reviews are very favorable so we shall see. I won’t read that 1 until I read more reviews, however.

      1. It won’t let me comment with my name like I did before. It uses my email address. Oh well just as long as you can see my comments I suppose that’ll work. Also I have to log in every single time.

  35. With all the heat, I guess the upcoming 4th quarter managed to sneak up on me. There are a number of good historical books in the upcoming releases on publisher websites.

    By the way, the posting box is different today. When I start typing this section/block it then indicates below to log in to leave a reply via icons for Word Press, Facebook or email. In the past there were open blocks for name and email. Okay, but when I hit the email symbol, it then opens up to line items similar to before. Will see if this posts without me logging into my email account as I don’t have the other two accounts.

    2. Yep, that’s what it did to me first thing this morning, but once I posted one comment I get the reply button right away. It’s been doing that off and on for me for a week or so? Sigh, and I thought leaving blogger meant we’d be leaving these kind of problems behind. If you have problems commenting on the blog you can reply to the notification email that was sent. That ends up posted on the blog in the comment section automatically, so don’t include personal details, but it’s a way around not being able to comment directly from the blog.

      4. FYI I’m reading The Lost Boys of Barlowe Theater now. Yes there is a pshycic but she is paired on a TV show with a Christian guy who tries to debunk her theories. Also the main girl character is a Christian and is vocal about what the Bible says about mediums etc. it is about people disappearing under unusual circumstances. I’m only half done. But I trust Jaime.
