July New Releases Giveaway!

It’s a new Best Reads blog tradition! Celebrating the month’s new releases the first week of each month.

Because I recently discovered that a book’s success or failure is often determined by first month sales! (Though I bet preorders play into that as well.) Publishing houses look at those stats to determine whether they’ll add on to a series or accept the author’s next manuscript! All that literary goodness hanging in the balance but for a month’s worth of sales! (This was a cozy mystery author, but I imagine all traditional publishers use the same ‘system’.) So, I thought I should do my wee little bit to promote Christian Fiction.

By hosting a special “Hello — insert month” giveaway. It’s easy to play along. You just have to choose one of the July 2023 new releases on your TBR wishlist (must be Christian Fiction) and mention the title in a comment below (or email me at kavluvstoread AT yahoo DOT ca.) If your name is drawn, that July release is the book you will win and we’re one book count closer to keeping our fave authors in business.

GIVEAWAY OPPORTUNITY AVAILABLE TO:

ebook for anyone anywhere who has an Amazon.com kindle account

US – paperback or ebook copy — winner’s choice

Canada -paperback or ebook (in form of an Amazon gift card) or audible.ca audio book (if available) – winner’s choice

Draw will be held and winner announced on Saturday July 8 2023.

    1. Greedy and books don’t go together at all. 🙂 So, it looks like Ladies of the Lake is getting the popular vote. I wonder if it’s because we’re all so hot the idea of a lake sounds so inviting. Good luck, Diane!

      1. Whew! That’s a relief! 😅 The lake idea sounds amazing as does this book! Which I would’ve known had I read the description before this morning. How did this escape my radar? My book scent usually sniffs them all out! hahaha

    1. This was so good & different than any suspense I’ve ever read, Kay. And not so creepy that Kav can’t read it, except for that 1 sentence that made me wince. 😕

    1. Oooohhhh — that one didn’t make our RCW line up. I do love a time travel novel…especially if it’s one that transports me to a cooler (much) climate. Bwahahaha. Not sure this one fits that bill but it looks good. Good luck, Tracey!

      1. LOL, I’m with you on the time travel to a cooler climate! we’ve had 95 degree temps the past two days with heat index of 105! Today and tomorrow aren’t looking any better. We had our 4th of July/Independence Day cookout Sunday so I I’m glad I don’t even have to go outside today. Reading it is! maybe I can find a book with a snowy cover to cool me off, visually at least 🙂

      2. That’s exactly the weather we’ve been having for weeks now and we’re not used to extended periods of temps like that plus I don’t have air conditioning. 😦 You were smart to have your family cookout early.

  6. I’m going to go with a popular one today already. “Ladies of the Lake” by Cathy Gohlke. I haven’t read any by this author and the story line sounds intriguing.

      1. I still have a lot of Cathy Gohlke catching up to do. Maybe I should put her on my list for next year. And interesting bit of trivia — when I type Gohlke auto correct switches it to Godlike every time…:-)

  7. My choice is Break of Day by Colleen Coble, July 4

I haven’t read the others in the series but I’m putting them on my tbr list.

    Thank you!

  8. I’m greatly anticipating both Gohlke’s and Finkbeiner’s releases! I already have Coble’s on my Audible for a complete set. (Anyone else need to have the same format for a series?!). I won Mehl’s last week (yahooo!). This month has several of my favourite authors releasing books!

I’ll choose The All-American by Susie Finkbeiner since I haven’t seen it on this post yet. I loooove that red cover!!!

    1. Definitely have to have all my books in a series in the same format! Yes, that dramatic red cover was my second favourite of the contemporary covers this RCW, but whimsy won over drama. 🙂 Good luck, Tammy!

  9. Kav, I would choose The All-American by Susie Finkbeiner if I didn’t already have it pre-ordered 🙂 But Ladies of the Lake by Cathy Gohlke is also on my radar so I’ll go with that one 🙂
