May New Releases Giveaway

It’s a Best Reads blog tradition! Celebrating the month’s new releases the first week of each month.

Because I recently discovered that a book’s success or failure is often determined by first month sales! (Though I bet preorders play into that as well.) Publishing houses look at those stats to determine whether they’ll add on to a series or accept the author’s next manuscript! All that literary goodness hanging in the balance but for a month’s worth of sales! (This was a cozy mystery author, but I imagine all traditional publishers use the same ‘system’.) So, I thought I should do my wee little bit to promote Christian Fiction.

By hosting a special “Hello — insert month” giveaway. It’s easy to play along. You just have to choose ONE of the May 2024 new releases on your TBR wishlist (must be Christian Fiction) and mention the title in a comment below (or email me at kavluvstoread AT yahoo DOT ca.) If your name is drawn, that May release is the book you will win and we’re one book count closer to keeping our fave authors in business.

  1. Hello May! I thought April showers bring May flowers, but it seems like all it’s been doing is raining here. Always leery about being the #1 comment, but couldn’t sleep so here I am. Once again I’ll shoot for:

    Unforgiven by Shelley Shepard Gray

    1. Bwahaha! Numbers don’t mean a thing ’cause I plug the names into a random wheel generator wheel which scrambles everyone to smithereens. 🙂 Unfogiven sounds quite intriguing, doesn’t it? Good luck, Diane!

      1. It does! And that cover!

When I used to blog we used random number.org for our giveaways (or something like that) & it seldom landed on #1 so it has me paranoid. hahaha

  2. I’m going to choose something by an author I’ve never read. I’ve heard great things about this novel: Leaning on Air by Cheryl Grey Bostrom. It is releasing May 7th.

    Thanks, Kav!

  5. I’m choosing For a Lifetime by Gabrielle Meyer, which releases in May 7th. I am really not usually a time travel fan, but this one is really different and I am really enjoying this series!

This is such a fun give away because I enjoy seeing everyone’s choices. Thank you for doing this!

    1. You’re welcome, Perrianne. I haven’t read this series by Gabrielle Meyer. I was kinda afraid it would be too love triangle-y since the heroine has a love interest in both timelines, right? And she has to choose between them. I’ll have to be brave and give one a try. Good luck!

      1. You really do need to read at least the first book without fear of a love triangle. I never would have thought that I would enjoy a time travel but Gabrielle Meyer has a unique twist that is very compelling. I highly recommend giving it a try!

  7. Hello May! I can’t believe we’re into the fifth month already, what happened?

Anyway, I have two books in mind for May releases, the one I’m going for is…

To Catch a Coronet by Grace Hitchcock

I haven’t read one of hers for a while and I really enjoy her writing 😊💖

P.S. The other one in case anyone needs a suggestion is ‘The Girl from the Hidden Forest’ by Hannah Linder. I’ve read all her books but this one!

And then that leads to the rest of the American Royalty series (3 books in all)…..bwhahaha!! Don’t you just love book recommendations that turn into must-read series? 😉
