My Review:

Jaime Jo Wright delivers another unputdownable read with her unique brand of thrilling dual timeline suspense. So much mystery! The Gothic flare! Plus, the emotional depth and inspirational insights add even more quality to the storytelling.

“She ached to move on. Jennie wanted God to make her messy beautiful. To infuse life with hope and peace.”

I was completely riveted and utterly confused more than once. The way Wright slowly (and I mean s-l-o-w-l-y) reveals the mystery elements leaves a reader with more questions than answers. And if you’re a reader with a runaway imagination like me, you’ll end up concocting umpteen potential scenarios in your head whenever your nose isn’t buried in the book. This story took on a life of it’s own and haunted me until I got to the final wrap up.

A little bit spooky, a whole lot intriguing with characters that grab your attention (and your heart) makes for a sensational read!

  4. First off, I collect bells – little hand held bells that tinkle and huge church bells that hang in my yard that make loud booming rings. That means this cover automatically drew my attention. Then I saw the author and know I’ll be in for an awe inspiring read. Then your review has me over the top wanting to read this book. Love the quotes. Love that it has a dual-timeline feature. Love mysteries so well written that they take you down a dozen paths as you try to figure them out. Add to that spooky and intriguing with characters, and I’m sitting her dying to read this book!

    Think you are blowing that cold air south. We went from sitting on the front porch in short sleeve shirts to grabbing a coat again. Plus they say by weekend, it’s to be in the 20’s again. Just goes to show you that in the south, weather can change in the blink of an eye – at least over night. Bundle up and have a terrific Thursday.

  9. I love Jaime Jo Wright’s books! I’m not a big fan of most dual timeline books, but if everyone could put together a dual timeline like Jaime Jo Wright, I’d have to change my stance! She’s a master!
