October New Releases Giveaway

HELLO OCTOBER!

It’s a Best Reads blog tradition! Celebrating the month’s new releases the first week of each month.

Because I recently discovered that a book’s success or failure is often determined by first month sales! (Though I bet preorders play into that as well.) Publishing houses look at those stats to determine whether they’ll add on to a series or accept the author’s next manuscript! All that literary goodness hanging in the balance but for a month’s worth of sales! (This was a cozy mystery author, but I imagine all traditional publishers use the same ‘system’.) So I thought I should do my wee little bit to promote Christian Fiction.

By hosting a special ‘Hello – insert month’ giveaway. It’s easy to play along. You just have to choose ONE of the October 2024 new releases on your TBR wishlist (must be Christian Fiction) and mention the title in a comment below (or email me at kavluvstoreadATyahooDOTca) If your name is drawn, that October release is the book you will win and we’re one book closer to keeping our fave authors in business.

  1. August went by so slow, but September flew by and here we are at October first already!!!

After finding Christmas in the Castle Library during RC week, I HAVE to pick that and find out if the story is as wonderful as the beautiful cover!

Thanks for the giveaway Kav and Happy October to all! tracey14567 at gmail dot com

    1. Yes — September flew by. Mostly because it was so hot I couldn’t get a lot of my end o season gardening done so now I’ll have to scramble to get it done before the frost hits. I’m really looking forward to this one too. Awesome find. Good luck, Tracey!

  2. If I were fortunate enough to be selected, I would love the opportunity to read –

“Christmas in the Castle Library” by Ann Swindell

    Release Date – October 15, 2024

Not only would I get to read a new to me author, but how could you go wrong with a story with Christmas as a backdrop AND with a library. 🙂

      1. Sounds really good, but of course Jaime’s always are! And it’s full of beautiful butterflies so how creepy can that be?! (wink)

      2. Ugh. Yuck! That is creepy. And gross. You know now that you mention it I never see cocoons anymore. Where are they? We have a lot of butterflies flitting around our flowers, but I don’t see their cocoons. And after what you just said I don’t want to!

My choice is Fiancé Finale by Angela Ruth Strong. It’s book 3 in the series, which I’ve really loved.

  5. Specters in the Glass House by Jaime Jo Wright! Even if I wasn’t already fascinated by her books, the cover on this one is just gorgeous! Plants (and books, of course) are my weakness.

    1. Fall heralds in cooler weather which I am enjoying tremendously — listening to books while I putter around the garden., so October is off to a great start. And you’re right, you totally can’t go wrong with a Christmas story this time of year and this one sounds fabulous. Good luck, Allison!

  13. Hope Like Wildflowers by Pepper Basham is the one I’m most excited about. I watched a live by her a week or so ago where she told the backstory. And it was so good. A large part of that story was true. And the fact it’s based in NC also has me wanting to read it since I’m from there. Thanks for the chance!
