It’s a Best Reads blog tradition! Celebrating the month’s new releases the first week of each month.
Because I recently discovered that a book’s success or failure is often determined by first month sales! (Though I bet preorders play into that as well.) Publishing houses look at those stats to determine whether they’ll add on to a series or accept the author’s next manuscript! All that literary goodness hanging in the balance but for a month’s worth of sales! (This was a cozy mystery author, but I imagine all traditional publishers use the same ‘system’.) So, I thought I should do my wee little bit to promote Christian Fiction.
By hosting a special “Hello — insert month” giveaway. It’s easy to play along. You just have to choose ONE of the January 2024 new releases on your TBR wishlist (must be Christian Fiction) and mention the title in a comment below (or email me at kavluvstoread AT yahoo DOT ca.) If your name is drawn, that January release is the book you will win and we’re one book count closer to keeping our fave authors in business.
GIVEAWAY OPPORTUNITY AVAILABLE TO:
ebook for anyone anywhere who has an Amazon.com kindle account
US – paperback or ebook copy — winner’s choice
Canada -paperback or ebook (in form of an Amazon gift card) or audible.ca audio book (if available) – winner’s choice
Draw will be held and winner announced on Saturday January 6 2024.

I haven’t even read the first book in this series yet,

So I’m going with The Tangled Tale of the Woolgathering Castoffs

Hello January & hello, Kav! Since Sun I’ve been eating normal food! Yay! Not much, mind you, but more than applesauce & toast! I hope you’re feeling better! I told hubby book lovers can’t get enough books, just like he can’t get enough tools even though he has a garage full. I could see the lightbulb of understanding go on in his head. HE FINALLY GETS IT! lol

Thanks, Kav! It feels great to join the land of the living again! Or should I say the land of the eating. 😉 Now I just need to learn to control MY eye rolls every time he brings a set of new tools through that front door. 😎

These monthly new release posts are for only one entry (unlike the RC giveaways, which I know is confusing) so I’m going with your first choice here and deleting the other two so as not to cause any confusion. Let me know if you want to switch to one of the other titles though. good luck, Nora!

Good luck, Perrianne! That’s a good theory — must be scary for the author though, releasing a book right after her debut was such a success.

Hi Kav, I hope you are feeling much better! I think I picked up some kind of stomach bug over New Year’s Day. It’s not terribly bad, but I’m staying home, so I don’t pass it on to someone else. I would love to have Denise Weimer’s A Cherished Betrothal, if my name happens to come up. Thanks for the opportunity to win a book I’m looking forward to reading.
Blessings, Kay

I think we are all so much more aware of germ spreading since COVID. I stayed home from church for two weeks because we have a lot of elderly and immune compromised members who don’t need to get sick. Especially over the holidays! Hope you are rallying, Kay. Good luck!

Good luck, Cindy! And yes, on the mend finally! Even had the oomph to take down my decorations and do a good dusting and floor cleaning — so important not to start the New Year with a messy house. That’s an old Irish wives tale that’s been bred into me. 🙂
