Reader’s Choice Giveaway – Christmas Edition – Historical Fiction

Historical Romance / Fiction — a full length story or novella or collection of novellas set in any time period before 1980. May cross genres such as YA, Suspense, Amish etc and may include dual timelines.

How does it work?

Easy peasy! Make recommendations in the comment section and if you win, you win the book you suggested.

BUT YOU GOTTA FOLLOW THE RULES!

  • Publication date must be January, February or March 2024
  • Each day is genre specific, so only submit titles from that genre
  • Christian Fiction books only please!
  • You can offer up to three suggestions per genre day BUT they need to be made in 3 separate comments (easier for me to keep track of.)
  • No email entries this time round since comments are working on WP

OF SPECIAL NOTE: IF YOU HAVEN’T COMMENTED ON THIS BLOG BEFORE, YOUR FIRST COMMENT WON’T APPEAR UNTIL I APPROVE IT. AFTER THAT YOUR COMMENTS WILL POST AUTOMATICALLY.

  • Entrants must submit their own selections (no piggybacking on someone else’s log in.)
  • It’s helpful to include your email (using AT and DOT instead of @ and . to protect yourself from spammers) but you only need to add it to one of your comments per day. If you choose not to include your email, then it’s up to you to contact me if you are a winner.

Draw will be held and winner announced on

Saturday December 30 , 2023

(You can enter any of the giveaways up until noon on December 30. Winners will be announced later that afternoon.)

  1. I don’t know if Mimi Matthews’ books count. They aren’t CBA. If they do count, then I would like The Lily of Ludgate Hill.

I gotta get this in one before I forget….The Tangled Tale of the Woolgathering Castoffs by Sharon Mondragón (January). I SO enjoyed “The Unlikely Yarn of the Dragon Lady” that I HAVE to have this one too! 😁

  4. Good morning, Kav, & bookish friends! It’s really hard to believe we’re nearing the end of 2023 already! in 2 more days I’ll be a year older. Gasp! This year was full of unexpected surprises (some not good at all) & I’ll be rather glad to put it behind me. But as always God’s been faithful & merciful, sprinkling showers of blessings to help us keep going!

    1) The Foxhole Victory Tour by Amy Lynn Green (Jan 23) *new to me author*

      1. Thanks for the awesome recommendation, Cindy! I have seen that one all over the place, but have a tendency to stick to authors I’m familiar with. Especially when it comes to war stories. However, thanks to Kav’s goal setting category, I’ve been venturing out of my comfort zone & reading more new-to-me authors! I really enjoyed new (to me) author, Cathy Gohlke’s, Ladies of the Lake, which takes place during WWI so I’m getting braver! One of my fave books of 2023!

    1. I was super excited about The Irish Matchmaker but then I read the synopsis and it looks like it might be a bit love triangle-y. Yikes! I’ll have to read some reviews and see how that pans out. Good luck, Diane and Happy Early Birthday!

      1. I just reread the synopsis & it looks like you’re right. Hmm… Well, look at the bright side. At least we get to choose who we want the heroine to be with instead of automatically knowing from chapter 1, right? lol Altho even in some LTs you know right away who’s the better fit & it’s obvious who she ends up with. I’m all for unpredictable…in books! 😉

    1. I’ve heard good things about Laura Frantz’s soon to be release, surprised it hasn’t been mentioned yet. I’m with you on all your choices, Tracey. Looks like we have some great Historical reads in store for us. They will help wile away the stormy weather. Good luck!

      1. The only reason I’m not requesting Laura Frantz’s book is that I already have an early copy. Yay! It’s at the top of my TBR pile! I love her books!

  8. I’ve already pre-ordered this one, so am not entering. I thought it would be a good suggestion for other people. Finally His Bride by Jody Hedlund.

    Here’s my entry title.

    1. Reader’s Choice Week is always so fun, but I’ll bet it drives you crazy keeping up with all of the entries!

First choice: The Rhythm of Fractured Grace by Amanda Wen 2/20 release

In doing my homework, I discovered that the library has already pre-ordered a few that I was interested in….shocking and unusual! Yipee!

      1. So exciting when our libraries anticipate our reading needs! RCW does keep me hopping, though this time it’s over two weeks so it won’t be as crazy. The tallying is always fun though. 🙂 Good luck, Perrianne!

      1. Book 2 of Jody Hedlund’s series is coming in the spring but is being co-written by a new author. This is under that mentoring line that Susan May Warren has called Sunrise Publishing.
