Tunnel Creek Ambush + Giveaway

Danger lurks in the shadows…
and a police dog is keeping watch

Officer Jasper Holt never thought he’d see his high school girlfriend, Kinsley Miller, again—much less become her protector. But when the wildlife biologist returns home for her aunt’s funeral, she’s attacked twice in a matter of hours. With his K-9 partner at his side, the single father will protect Kinsley with his life. But can they uncover the reason behind the assaults…before the next strike becomes the last?

My Review:

Reunion romance of high school sweethearts + action and adventure all wrapped up in a K-9 suspense? Yes please! Lots of elements to lure me in and Johnson’s writing style kept me hooked. Oh — and I love that Kinsley is a wildlife biologist. You can tell the author appreciates all creatures great and small…even the squirmy kind! I enjoyed the wilderness aspects of this story and how the setting added to the suspenseful elements.

Tunnel Creek Ambush ‘starts out with the ambush — a nail-biting scene that sets the tone for the rest of the book. Loved the perplexing mystery that keep Kinsley and Jasper stymied while they dodge multiple attacks of an imaginative nature. Fast-paced with enough breathing room to toss in some banter and soul-searching. The kind of read you can’t put down until the cutest ever epilogue promises a happily-ever-after.

  1. Dog on the cover AND a K-9 story – I’m hooked before I even read about the book or your review! Then I read to two mentioned and I’m like “Oh my goodness, I have to read this one!” Love me some can’t put down, exciting adventure and with a hint of happily ever after.

Thank you for the chance to win a copy! Shared and really hoping on this one.

Up very early to do that long 2 1/2 hour drive to a specialist this morning. Have to check in by 8:45. They are going to whittle on my face a little at a time trying to get all the “good” cancer out around my nose and mouth. I was told to expect to be there all morning and to bring a book for the in between stages. That’s sure no problem for me. At least reading will be a bright spot in the day. 🙂

  2. Wouldn’t mind getting this one to read. Not that I have much time to read this summer. Always so busy with everything else, then by the time my head hits the pillow I’m too sleepy to read more then a few pages.

    1. But you can always have it waiting in the wings (or on the shelf) for when you do have time to read…even if it’s not until the snowy blowy days of winter! Good luck, Becky!
